3 managers - all defensive coaches.

People always disregard the fact for 4 years under Poch they were more than fine.

But even with defensive coaches, they should not need to tell players how to move into space and control a football.

Seems mad to say, but we really missed Forster tonight. Lloris is such a nervous presence at the moment.

Amazing servant but he's a proper liability and fills the entire defence with fear.

New keeper should be absolute top of the list of priorities this summer. Closely followed by a LCB and a CAM.
Very good points, agree

People saying the players aren’t trying?…

Hugo - seemed to put required effort in to me, no chance with the goal

Porro - passion and up and down the wing all game

Romero - blocks, tackles, chasing and pressing high up

Dier - shouting and commanding all game but yes he is one who is a bit limp

Lenglet - defended well, we went to pot when clueless Davisson came on but no lack of effort from Clement

Perisic - up and down the wing crosses, blocks seemed to try to me

Skipp & PEH - outnumbered in there as usual, tons of headers and tackles and running. PEH going mad at Romero nearly giving the ball away

Kuku - did his best but in this formation he has no one near him to pass to

Son - low on confidence. Bad sub taking him off for Lucas

Kane - can never question his commitment.

So aside from Dier being a bit soft/limp and maybe Perisic arguably at best who else from todays game wasn’t putting in the required effort 🤷‍♂️

It’s primarily the tactics that are the issue
horrible post, you say its not effort, but tactics, ever considered the players simply not good enough?

Give this group freedom to actually play football and let’s see how they look.
This.

I don't doubt that too many of them are just rubbish and severely lacking in personal pride, but having those rigid, joyless instructions drummed into you all season, while the same miserable manager essentially tells the world that you're shit, can't be much fun.

Spineless. The hardest thing should have been breaking them down after the red card. We did that and then stopped playing. Criminal. Conte must be laughing his socks off.
Conte shouldn’t be laughing at anything. Those were his shite tactics, formation and substitutions. It’s his fault we’re in this mess.

So, did Conte actually go?
This ones on Levy imo, and the rest of the season. Glad he gets to watch the CL money slip through his tiny fingers.
Shit decision after shit decision.
Should have gone and begged Poch to come back but no, appoint the assistant who will make no difference whatsoever.
Bloke is a clown.
Be honest, did anyone seriously think this appointment was going to work?

I agree with a lot of your posts mate but sorry i disagree on this topic. Tactics don't help but thats the players bottling as usual.

Can anyone see Kane staying now after the last few games. He stands at the other end of the field a sees Lloris, Dier & lenglet pfaff about passing the ball between to the extent they invite pressure. To make matters worse Sky are waxing lyrical about Everton

Are there two worse footballers on earth to bring on in a game when you’re looking to calm things down than Sanchez/Moura? Human pinball machines the pair of them.

Just like against Southampton, another situation where we fold when the opposition ramp it up. No control in midfield, no one you can look to get the ball to who can take the sting out the game. Obviously no comparison in ability but Modric at 37 is comfortably more mobile and dynamic than a 27 year old Hojbjerg.

Hojbjerg at times looks like a geriatric who'd struggle in a veterans game. He is next to useless when the opposition raise the tempo and really ramp things up.

It does run deeper, yes.

But honestly bringing on Sánchez - the least calm player on the ball in our squad - when we’re a man up and winning 1-0 away from home, is just MONUMENTALLY STUPID.

Then taking Son off and instead of using our very pacey, point-to-prove winger, he brings on our clearly-over-the-hill and done-with-this-shit forward…

He’s really not helped us there has he.
I don't disagree, they are all to blame coaching staff very much included.
