Pretty much agree, B-C. WTF Robbo was doing for the free kick I have no idea—but I have no idea how Dawson managed to get outjumped by Martins and then go into Brain Off Mode and needlessly knock him over, either. He (Robbo, that is) looked flat-footed for Butt's shot, but even if he'd reacted quicker I don't think he'd have got to it. You also have to ask what exactly was going on in front of him.
-one comes out of it with mReally, nouch credit. I only watched MOTD and that was probably enough, on reflection.
I don't normally give ratings but am genuniely angry so thought I'd use this thread to hurl abuse at the useless plebs.
Robbo - 4 - Too easily beaten for Butt's goal and just amateurish for the free kick. Needs to go as soon as possible.
Hutton - 7 - Our best player by far. Looks like he'll be a massively important player for us.
Woodgate - 4 - Poor today. Been magnificent this season but had a disaster today.
Dawson - 4 - Perhaps marginally better than Woody today but still doesn't look comfortable at the top level.
O'Hara - 4 - Looked out of his depth today. Too slow to play full back and didn't offer much going forwards.
Malbranque - 5 - Good in the first half and did well for the goal. Woeful in the second half for some reasosn.
Hudd - 4 - Was he on the pitch? Looked massively out of place on the right of midfield...strange decision from Ramos.
Zokora - 3.5 - Awful. Can't pass, can't tackle very well and doesn't even make his 'driving' runs forward anymore. Needs to be dropped sharpish.
Bent - 5 - Did well for the goal and chased well. As ever he's very dependent on the midfield and as they were awful today he didn't get much joy.
Keane - 5 - Looked the most dangerous of our front players but in all fairness that wasn't hard. Shouldn't have been taken off.
Berba - 3.5 - I love him but he was pathetic today.
Subs:
Taarabt - 4.5 - Give him credit for trying to up the tempo and for a few good passes but ultimately he still doesn't have the footballing brain for the premiership yet. Comical for their 4th goal.
Lennon - 4 - Did nothing. Given little of the ball and never looked like creating anything.
Tainio - 5 - Roasted for the goal but shouldn't have been allowed to be there on his own anyway. Didn't do too much else wrong or right.
Ramos - 4 - Not sure why we suddenly changed our formation today and some very dubious substitutions left us with lennon, huddlestone and taarabt out of position. Probably his worst managerial performance since arriving unfortunately.
we were terrible today - I couldn't give anyone more than 5 - tho maybe Hutton deserved 6- but I couldn't see that he did- very disappointed in my fave player Berbs - 4 at best -
I'm afraid Ramos's team and tactics contributed heavily toards us losing, and playing badly today. I assume he decide on 433 to match up Newcastl's formation. Big mistake. Huddlestone struggles to cope in a midfield 4 let alone a 3. Berbatov is not a No10. He's nowhere near busy enough. I have no idea what thought process decides Ohara is better at LB than Lee, Gilberto, Chimbonda (or even Birchichie). And as much as Keanes faggoty jump out of the way of a tackle annoyed the shit out of me I am still amazed he went off and not the woefully one dimensional Bent. And what thepoint of tainio for Zokora was I have no idea. Zokora almost certainly would have defended Martins better than Tainio did. A very bad day at the office all round - in fact probably the worst performance we've put in all season. Slaggings...I mean ratings:
