Thought we played decently apart from the clusterfuck moments.

No idea where the Lamela moaning is coming from? He was far more involved than either Eriksen or Lennon. He's a trier and I thought he played alright.

Bentaleb was excellent again.

We'll smash Palace.

That's woeful, we've taken some proper hammerings home and away. Just so weak mentally as a club.

Yup, and still too many soft spots positionally.

All of this could have been avoided in the summer of 2013. Tear-jerkingly infuriating that we handled that opportunity so poorly.

A few observations...

We got the result I expected. Chelsea are a much better team than us and after they scored they looked very comfortable. We're just not ready in so many ways to compete with a team like that. That's the reality, I've accepted that.

I was surprised that Soldado did not start. In terms of movement, we look so much more dangerous when he plays - he uses the ball so well. It is also no coincidence how much more space Eriksen has when Soldado is in the team. Tonight CE was anonymous, and I think RS' absence played a key part.

The Achilles heel of Spurs though, and I've said this countless times, is not finishing our chances when we are on top. That 15 minute spell at the start of the game was key, had we scored it would've been a far more interesting contest.

Finally, and whilst we are making some progress with this (the away victories & coming from behind to win), we do still need to be a lot stronger mentally after we concede. We were lucky to weather the storm at Hull without conceding another but tonight that luck ran out.

Dig in. Go 10 mins just being solid and then use that as a foothold.

Anyway, totally unflustered by today. I'm sure it's all stuff Poch will be working hard on and I still think February-May we will be much more consistent in team selection, tactics and mental strength. With a very strong push to the line.

Oh and as an aside, what a load of crap from Hamman and Neville on MOTD! I bet this is the first time Hamman has even bothered watching us this season (if he did at all!) and he's taken a three week old sound-bite and just recycled it. I had to rewind my TV to check I'd heard him right!

Obviously we played fucking shit because we lost 3-0. I am a bit gutted that I cannot name the culprits because my stream kept cutting out but talksport blame Lamela and Lennon mainly and I ain't drinking Staropramen no more.

Remy is exactly the type of player we don't have, now he just wastes on Chelsea bench. We could have signed him on at least 2 occasions, when he went Qpr and then on loan to Newcastle. Missed opportunity as we chased and bought the wrong players as usual.

I couldn't agree more. Thought we were crying out for Remy last season when we lacked pace and penetration upfront. Potentially could have saved AVB's tenure.

I wonder if it's because he was a Redknapp 'pick' that people don't fancy him.

Good player IMO.

So, your explanation of The Lord of The Rings would be hobbits leave home and then come back; nothing happens inbetween.
Don't get me started on the Lord of the Rings. I paid good money to watch the first film and there was not an ending.
I paid for me and 4 others to watch a fucking film with no fucking ending. I did not read the book obviously.

Poch post match interview:

http://www.football365.com/premier-league/9591590/-

He's spot on there.

He mentioned bravery and trying to create chances, but I think he has a conservative streak and dropping Soldado showed he doesn't have the courage of his own convictions at times. He doesn't trust soldado to carry over the good work from Everton into a tough away tie. I hope he reverts to two proper strikers against Palace, but you never know.

Despite having low or no expectations, we should've made more of a game of it tonight. There are teams lower and weaker than us who give the top sides much more of a challenge than we do. It really is going beyond a joke how much we roll over against the the top sides...something like 38 against and 4 for in the last couple of seasons.

We go again against Palace, when hopefully the bravery will be evident in the selection and on the field.

ah, you listen to talkshite, that's the least surprising thing i've read here outside of Jimbo's typical horseshit.

So you think we played great tonight and were unlucky, do you?
Anyway-it don't matter. We lost badly and the only question is do we continue with the manager or change him?
We ain't gonna change him so we have to roll with it.

There are lots of questions, but yours isn't one of them. Let alone the only one.

The Guardian has us down for 61% possession in that game. If ever the system argument of pack the midfield so we don't get overrun was again made bankrupt, it was tonight. Its all well and good playing with a lone striker when you've got hazards, Williamns, oscars, schlurres, fabregas and co playing behind a costa or drogba or remy and never isolating the striker. 61% of mostly safe but useless possession isn't going to make us any stouter to the onslaught that comes in their 39%.

If tactics is mainly about what to do when we don't have the ball, we'll keep having these downers after some relative ups. We've shown we can really get amongst the opposition when we play with two up front. I'd argue we look more solid and defensively sound when we play with 2 up, rather than the 4231. So I hope Potch just gives us a run with the same core pairs down the spine of the side for a while....especially Kane and Soldado up front.

None of us thought we would win this match. The gap in class is obvious, and the same will apply to most of Chelseas opposition in the PL. That said, we could have rattled them both in the first 15mins, and the 15mins before their 3rd. In my opinion Bentaleb was outstanding, given his recent return from injury. He wasn't overawed by the opposition and he is a genuine world class talent. Aged 20 just last week, but such composure, reminds me of a young Grahame Souness. Lets not lose this one and get him on a decent contract soonest. Kane continues to improve. Walker is back soon. I hope we get rid of a number of players this January, and build around youth and a few seasoned and reliable professionals. Get Dier playing in the cups at CB. I'm not writing Lamela off yet, nor for that matter Tom Carroll. Maybe a return of VDVaart would lift the club and help the youngsters. He's available next June for free.

I'm sorry, but Bentaleb is not world-class in any way, shape, or form. I'm all for getting behind our players, particularly the ones from our academy, but hyperbole like that does no-one any favours.

I thought we played respectably. Not great but we showed intent and looked like we were getting in the right positions against an excellent team. We weren't unlucky, just weren't clinical with our few chances.

I love the direction of the club under pochettino and can't believe people can't see his ideas coming into practice. And for the record I wanted us to hire De Boer.

Is this where a center back should be? Nowhere near good enough from Fazio.

Wrongly worded, I meant potentially, not as of now.
