Something I can't ignore about this Spurs team is the defence.

I've been a fan since 94/95 when we started the season with Ossie Ardiles in charge and never, in all those years have we had a defence as good as we have now.
Sure we've had good defenders. Mabbs, Sol ****balls, King, Woodgate etc. But at no point in those 22 years have we had a top keeper and 4 absolutely shit hot defenders all at the very very top of their game. I've little doubt that come next May we will again have one of, if not the best defencive records.
I can't think of a better back 4 currently in world football.

Their faffing around at the back with the goalie and centre backs will continue to cause them problems against good teams. It's just completely unnecessary. Gave us the initiative time after time.

Tactics. Fitness. Organisation. Will to win. Technical ability. Mentality. Game management. Commitment.

About as complete a Tottenham Hotspur performance as I can remember from top to bottom.

I've been to plenty of games at the lane but that is right up there with Inter Milan
3-1 win for me. In terms of the manager and quality of team we were up against.
Atmosphere was superb. Exciting times (y)

Biggest joy today was the pace we had. One worry most had pre season and today's formation and players meant we were lightning. Son a very important part of that

Agree.
My old man called it after 2 games.
He said I'd like to see someone put them under pressure because they wanna fk around with it at the back all the time and they wont just clear it no matter what.
Now we know.
Lloris does it a bit too much for my liking but he does boot it up the pitch occasionally as does our defence.
Its common sense (or it used to be).
And its not just Citae. Its almost every team in PL.
All trying to play like Barcelona but not good enough to do it and week after week you sit down and watch the weekends goals and half of them are self inflicted.
I find it truly mind boggling.
Fk knows what these teams actually look at when they watch these games back at training. Does no one say 'Wtf were you doing?'
