So all of AVBs highlights directly correlate with Bale having a worldy. AVB needs to be thanking Bale, not us thanking him.

has to be the united win, never thought i'd see one in my lifetime. plus, whether it was the wrong thing who knows, he was emotional and clearly gave a shit rather than just going through the motions. the initial picture of him at the training ground is one i'll remember too, hope he does ok wherever he ends up.

I loved how we from November and onwards became this gritty never-say-die team thar refused to be beat. We came back from being a goal down to win or draw 15 times last season.

I also love how we looked mentally strong and able to get results away on a consistent basis instead of having to rely on luck to fluke 3 or 4 wins.

The team of last year wasn't fluid, but it's the team I've enjoyed the most, since we really seemed to be going places in terms of building winning mentality and grit. One of my favourite moments was nice guy Michael Dawson tearing Clattenburd a new arsehole in the NLD at the Lane in a Roy Keaneish manner. We finally seemed to have grown some balls.

I also appriciated his philosophy of trusting every single player in the squad and giving them playing time. It was a stark contrast to the previous regimes MO of playing the same 11-12 players as long as they had some resemblance of a pulse and when the injuries came, the other squad players were as match fit as Sam Allardyce.

I really liked the bloke and his ideas, but things really went to shit.

Beating Red Nose at his own patch, with one of the few managers who didn't bow & scrape to him, in his final season, unforgettable.

I think in a decades time we will look back at AVB's managerial record at Spurs and think, 'How on earth did he get fired?', probably in a similar way to Harry's record. Sadly I think a couple of disastrous results will overshadow some magnificent ones and a period of Spurs history that has been the most promising for the past two decades. I know AVB, and Harry before him, had players that many of those managers before him never had at their disposal, but when the dust settles I think attitudes towards AVB will gradually soften, at least I hope they do.

Good luck Andre

That was awesome. We beat Man United when it was still an achievement!

Likewise, the much maligned Dempsey getting that last-minute equaliser against Man U at ours in the snow was brilliant. I screamed myself hoarse.

My personal favourite memories will be his beard bristling against my ballsack while I lay back on my bed and pulled my legs back so my feet were by my ears. Whilst he was playfully tinkering with my genitalia, I would ask him to talk about the Vietnam war or Wagon Wheels. He knew so much about stuff. And he made it all sound so sexy.

The cuddles. They made everything worthwhile. He'd look at me deep into my eyes and say 'I've got you Bom Bom, I've got you'. He was so loving and caring. He would compliment me on my penis, calling it a thing of immense dimension. I'd get embarrassed and laugh, then he would laugh too, and when he laughed too hard he always snorted. It sort of annoyed me at first but it's one of the things I'll miss most now he's gone.

One day I was feeling really down and he came into my room and said 'Hey penis gravy (one of his many pet names for me), are you ready to dance'? When I looked up, there he was, naked but for a Madonna cone bra he made especially to cheer me up. He danced for hours. His willy flapped up and down between his belly button and his testies. He sang 'Get into the groove' and 'Holiday' over and over. It cheered me up no end.

Thanks for the memories Andre. I love you.
the wtf ratings are almost as funny as the content...cheered me up too. We need more work like this for our own project.

Wonderful, original, and brave homoerotic humor. Dangerous laughs, but good laughs.

Thank you kind sir. You can be the official reviewer of my new book 'On The Crest Of Immense Dimensions - AVB Laid Bare'.

Flashspur can be the Daily Mail reviewer. Boooo.

Goddamnit andre.

I loved you. Everyone loved BMJ. I liked him also, but there was something about you that got me. I somehow always knew deep down It'd all end in tears and maybe that's why its so tragic. Your passion, your stubbornness, your defiance and non-conformity. Starting XIs were almost always questionable as were the subs and the football was usually dire but last season the bale and AVB year stole my heart. It was prototype spurs tragedy. Constant late winners constant drama only to be nicked at the very end, again. He was a part of us after that and he now knows what glorious failure is.

He may be gone but he is one of us.

The win at Old Trafford for me.

The knives were out for him at the beginning and we'd had a slow start to the season with a loss to Newcastle and draws to West Brom and Norwich.

I was on the fence about his hiring as I accepted that I simply didn't know enough about him to make a judgement.

That win though made me believe we were on our way to good things. And even if good times weren't on their way just the enjoyment of seeing us deservedly win at Old Trafford with an excellent Bale goal made the moment a memorable one.

I'm not 100% for or against his firing but I won't remember his time in charge as an especially bad one.

Welcome thread.
Loved his passion, intensity and seriousness.
Record will stand the test of time
and the football would have got better
as his disparate set of incomers adapted to
the country, the language and the Premiership.
Good luck Andre.

Best of luck Andre. Am gutted by this outcome and think Mr. levy got it wrong at several stages with AVB. He will be more than fine but do believe our club missed a big moment with him.

I'm still puzzling over all this. Part of me thinks it's the right thing as he wasn't learning or really looking like he knew how to address certain issues, part of me thinks it's a really frickin' stupid way for a football club to behave. But I liked André and wanted him to do well - probably because Chelsea fans hated him, which is as good a reason to like someone as anything.

The Old Trafford game, as many have said, was clearly the pinnacle, as it was a rarity for us, which makes it all the more memorable. History will be kind to him due to Bale's phenomenal last season and subsequent signing for Real, as he oversaw the rise of the most expensive player in the world and the first true world superstar at Spurs for a long while; the dusty tomes also won't play replays of our games, either, but show his enviable points hauls and win stats, which we can only hope will be eclipsed as he did Harry's.

I wouldn't be surprised if AVB did very well somewhere else, abroad obviously, but all the best fella, get some R&R and race some buggies across the desert, will make you feel better.

Last season was fun. Bale was on-fire, we had some great victories and got our highest point total in the PL.

Cheers AVB and best of luck.
