Liverpool where badly managed by Benitez, he didn't really set them up for the future with regards to youth. Hodgson, better forgotten by all liverpool fans. Kenny has come in and although they have done well, he hasn't bought that player that can make the difference. The only player they have of star quality is Suarez.

Arsenal like all clubs smaller than Barca, Real, United needed to win trophies to guarantee further influx of quality players and to keep their star players. They failed to do this and therefore have lost out on revenue and status. Therefore the stars have wanted to leave. This can happen to us if we do not win anything within 2 years.

All clubs lose star players, the differences as to their future relates to how they replace the stars. The goons' problems have been that Whinger has replaced stars with journeyman, Adebayor was replaced by Chamakh and more recently Fibreglass and Nasri with Arteta and Benayoun. He is paying the price for believing the hype over their youth team and time has proven that the likes of Denilson, Diaby, Traore et al. were actually pretty average.

I don't think Levy and HR would be that stupid if we did sell Modric or Bale.

Thats exactly what I was thinking after I had made my post. The youth team hasn't actually produced anyone of note.

Denilson, Vela, Merida, Traore, Diaby, Walcott, Lansbury, Justin Hoyte have all done naught in their respective domestic leagues and these where supposed to be the second coming of future stars. Wenger actually had it right a few times:

Fabregas and Wilshere.

Oh and with regards to that last statement regarding Levy an HR. Redknapp wanted to sell modric for £30/40 mil and buy 2/3 players. Which only gets you dross nowadays in the overinflated market. Whilst Levy sold both carrick and berbatov without a ready made replacement.

I think this thread goes to show how much of a great job harry the coaching staff and dan levy etc have done in a short space of time to not only to muscle previously perinial champions league tasting liverpool out of the top 4 club but to also possess the far superior first team and squad as a whole.

in my 35 years on this planet this is the first time we have had a better team and squad than the bin dippers, and another bit of good news is arsenal are now in our sights. Its a mark of respect when the once mighty liverpool fans are compairing like for like players with our beloved tottenham.

I disagree. Liverpool have lost their top 4 place and their elite status from bad management and economics.

Bad management
They should have expanded the stadium along time ago
They overspent on wages/transfers trying to keep up with Man Utd

Economics
Provincial town
local economy is weak giving limited corporate income and sponsorship
Poor local fanbase, low ticket prices

I see no reason why we cant overtake them. If we get our stadium, we will have the economic factors like rich fanbase, high ticket prices, corporate marketability and a desirable location for players to live.

Lucas is nothing more than a decent defensive/ central midfielder. Sandro is about a million times better and will replace Lucas in Brazil's side soon enough.

How they think he is so good is beyond me lol.

I suspect its a case of him once being shit but now much improved a bit like our view of BAE. I don't agree though I think Lucas is decent at best and Benny is great

Fucking funny read that liverpool forum especially enjoyed browsing through the match thread v Spurs its comedy gold!

I read the Mickey Mouse forum and they are quite delusional.

I think this would be a fun test for them..

Who is better (im gonna be a scouse muppet now)

Who is better James Carragher or (The mousers will automatically bite on this one as there is no one better than James Carragher) William Gallas

Speed
JC versus WG-: Well JC loses as he is one of the slowest footballers in the prem and Billy can still run (faster than Dawson anyway).

Agility

JC loses this one too as Billy made some unbelievable stops in the CL and the league last year.

Experience Billy has won the world cup, Prem and every cup except (Euro honours) and JC managed to win everything else but the prem but has never really been to up a world class stage as was demonstrated last year!

Billy wins that one too!

Leadership Not Bills strong point JC does not cry so he gets that one

Goals

James has been prolific in this respect he has scored 7 goals for the Mickeys but unfortunatly he has scored them for the other team!!! We got 2!! Oh he has scored 3 legitimate goals for the Scousers!!

Billy has scored 24 in his prem career!!

So who is the best.. "JC the Mickeys will scream as he is like James the baptist proclaiming the second coming!!"

But in reality Gallas wins hands down.

So lets compare Bale to Drowning.

Bale has 13 goals in 82 appearances umm!!

Downing has 0 in seven appearances for the mousers, but In his prem career 29 in 256 appearances

At 22 years of age and worth .. shit loads with another 8 or 9 years ahead of him I think that Bale is the sale of the centuary..

But the Mickeys will quibble over the goal ratio until you take into account that as 18-19 year old Gareth had already scored 5 for Southampton in 40 appearances.

We paid 10 million for GB and the Mousers paid 20 million for Drowning!!

The question will be who will score more this season. I think we all know the answer to that one.

The forum I have just visited remined me of the Knights of Kni debating shrubberies!

I think the score line in the recent game reflects the gulf in quality of the two teams... They are better wingers and better at cheating and conning the referee as is evidenced by that cheat Suarez getting rodwell sent off for a fair tackle...

I think it was £15m.

Downing's a pretty good player, underestimated by many on here. He'd have been a useful signing for us 4-5 years ago.

Liverpool signed him this year.

Still think we might end up taking him.
A 4th place finish and maybe another promising signing, and I won't be far wrong.

love that forum.

Odd really I chose, William Gallas who is clearly a better player than Carragher, I also took a bit of poetic licence rather than check some facts, some reponses were factually correct some were up the poster back sides. DO we really differ than them
