Wish him well, hope he gets minutes there and kicks on. Decent player but not what we needed in CM. Odd signing

Good luck to him! Was a random signing out of the blue that never really worked out. Not sure why he wasn't given a chance by Potch but never heard him moan about not playing regularly.

Incredible, from Watford to PSG within a matter of days. ;) All the best to the guy, seems like a top bloke. I hope that he'll grab this chance with both hands.

Taking in wages did we break even with this guy?

Benjamin Stambouli completes PSG move
Laurent Blanc confirmed the arrival of Benjamin Stambouli last night and even went as far to say that the Frenchman might play a part in Les Parisiens’ next friendly match against Fiorentina.

The player completed his medical in New York yesterday before signing a 5 year contract. The deal is believed to be worth between €8m and €10m.

Think his purchase fee was around £4m? Wage probably no more than £40k p/w so £2M salary?
Chances are we made a small profit.

As long as it was relatively neutral financially then all well and good as we also got some service from him. Thought he was going to be our answer to Schneiderlin. Glad we appear to have not wrecked his career. PSG is a very good move for him. Bet Capoue is a bit peeved!

We must have reachable targets for DM if he has been allowed to leave. Surely?....

In previous years I would have no trust that we had people lined up but everything seems to be a lot more organised this year so I think we must have obtainable options.

Fingers crossed anyway!

Glad we have not wrecked his career as well.

Tidy player, good tackler and decent attitude. Just can't shake the image of him running back at the speed of slow and looking like Al Murray running for the bus after 10 pints and a vindaloo.

Would be interested to follow his career from here on though.

In response to "Was Stambouli a Poch signing?"

No, but agreed as we needed that kinda of player and MS wasn't happening, whom we had agreed prior to the WC.

His purgatory has just changed bench.

I doubt he'll see much league action, more cup, but given the number of games PSG played last season, he will doubtless see more action for them than us! Suppose you have to see it as a calculated risk: Take the chance that you might be twiddling your thumbs and weigh it up against the opportunity to join a big club, play alongside top players and raise your profile in the hope of getting a national call-up.

Or to put it another way: PSG...or Watford? What'll it be, BC?
