When members have different opinions to yours they have ‘preconceived beliefs and biases’?
Look, for example, I think Lloris’s kicking/distribution is terrible and has been for a long time, I think Dier lacks focus so always has a mistake in him, I think Emerson is very unsuited to the WB role in a Conte team, I think Sanchez is too prone to panic when put under pressure. I could go on. Other people may disagree with my opinions of different players and that’s fine.
Nevertheless I don’t go in the Match day thread telling everyone how they are going to cost us the game and while I will criticize them and others when they make an error I don’t hurl abuse at them and say they should never play for Tottenham again because they’re not even good enough for a League 2 side.
The manager picks the players and I go on the assumption that he’s sees in training that they can do a job for him. I also presume that they are doing their best but sometimes people have bad days at work. We all want our team to do well but sometimes it doesn’t go the way we’d like it to which is VERY frustrating but I fail to see how abusing players, who you should presume are doing their best and are almost certainly as frustrated as you are about a bad result, is very helpful.

All I can say is, we're all lucky we're not Philadelphia Eagles fans, because this forum would be burned to the ground each and every game day with performances like we saw in the first half -- or in the first half vs. Sporting or in the game vs. ManU or in the game vs. Newcastle . . .

I'm not saying that's how it should be, but you don't know shit about player abuse!

and we've all got bum ache lol.

He was prioritising the CL game in midweek. At some point he has to rest players. People in this very thread have been calling for 'rotation' for a while now. If they have any sense, they'll stop that now (they don't, so they won't) because we have at least four players that we need to improve on and definitely two or three within the next two transfer windows. We simply haven't got that kind of squad yet. I'm willing to give a few of them a chance on the assumption that being surrounded by much better players will improve their performances too.

Today told us nothing we didn't already know, the squad needs a lot of work doing to it. We know this and it'd be nice if some of the people around here started to acknowledge it and then translate that into a bit of balance instead of what we saw today with comments such as excrement, ****s and spastics (I kid you not). That's what passes for support these days.
Spot on again! Nothing we didn’t already know from today in terms of squad depth weaknesses, Conte needed to rotate with such a key game next Tuesday, some ‘supporters’ in these match threads need to take a good look at themselves.

Toxic vibes even after a last minute win and epic comeback? Wish I could say I'm surprised, but with this fanbase nothing shocks me anymore.

I posted earlier about we shouldn't be happy after that victory. Well, I am wrong and I wish I didn't post that. I am delighted with the comeback but just wish we didn't play like garbage in the first half.

From page one, you got a crystal ball Spurslove?
Lucky we still had some on the bench.

:) Absolutely spot on.

Once again (apparently) another abysmal first half. I really don't know WTF is going on in our players heads, and I don't want to hear anyone say 'yeah but we had 6 changes to the team...' because we all know that's a bollocks argument. We've been sh*t in our first halves all season, no matter who we've been playing.

The first thing you'd do under any normal circumstances would be to blame the manager (as I've been doing) but then you hear it's not Conte, it's the players who can't be bothered to play with any intensity, pace or aggression in the first half.

Then you just shake your head and look up to the skies. WTF is going on here FFS?

How impressive has he become since he arrived? I really appreciate his efforts and the way he seems to seamlessly compliment Hojbjerg's contributions.
The guy has astonished me. I was worried he might fade this season with Bissouma coming in but he has been a revelation. He is becoming one of the best midfielders in the league

Young. Raw. Unreliable in defence. Emerson is uninspired and hesitant in attack, but he's usually very solid and disciplined in defence.

We know from observation and from his many comments that Conte won't start players until they "know his system". I'm sure that is primarily code for knowing exactly what to do and where to position themselves when we do not have the ball, rather than which runs and attacking moves to make when we do have the ball.

His system is about team defending first. Then it's about team defending. People don't get this about Conte, because they think of him coaching fast-attacking teams that score in goals in two seconds. He is a coach for whom team defending - all 11 players - is paramount. Team defending means every new player learning all of Conte's shapes, moves and formations before they get to play. Some fit right in (Kulusevski and Perisic, who had played for Conte before). Some take much longer, like Bissouma, Gil and Spence.

That's why Spence isn't playing., Not because he's "bad". Because he hasn't learned exactly how Conte wants the team to play defence.

He'll play when Conte deems him ready. All the carping in the world won't speed that up. He'll probably be exciting and productive when he finally does play and everyone will moan about how he should have been playing months ago.

No. Not until the manager trusts him in his defensive role.

"Unreliable in defence"

When?

I'll wait.

Got out of jail big time today. An insipid first half performance yet again, not helped by the team selection. In saying that it is clear a lot of players are not performing at the level required and some of them never will, while others are on a run of poor form.
Hats off to Bentantcur again, few stray passes when he came on first, but always looking to move the ball forward or take it there himself and came up with another important goal, love his enthusiasm and more importantly his sheer class, a real coup of a signing.

Im hammered but watching the game back on Star +

Also a tree is now fallen across mu street cause of a severe storm

Anyway, Bournemouth's goal was totally out of the blue and only came about cause Hojbjerg couldn't move the ball on..

Hojbjerg, Skipp, Kane, Son and Emerson have been high up which shows a lack of quality in attack

I still haven't seen any of the game but I heard it on the radio.
From what I heard the first half wasn't the abysmal performance we saw on Wednesday, it was better and we probably ought not to have been one down at half time but it still wasn't good enough, we have to sort it out.

Battling recovery led by Betancur again.
Could be a season changing landmark.
·3 goals and neither Son nor Harry on the scoresheet.
Shouldn't have been 2 down
but it makes the recovery sweeter
and even more impressive.
The boys have shown something
both to the fans and themselves.
A point on Tuesday and we are back on track.
Not sure haow much credit
Conte can take for this.

I’ve just watched the game on Spursplay. Really was not as horrendous as made out in this thread. I watched the Leicster Man City game and when teams don’t come out and just sit everyone in their own half it’s difficult as both we and Man City found.
Also if we had scored either of the goals that Bournemouth scored we would absolutely be creaming ourselves about how clinical we are.
And on a side note the commentator sounded like he normally posts in the match day threads, really negative about our players. IMO
