With Defoe wanting out for 1st team football in the hope of a world cup year and Berba wanting out maybe we could do a loan swap until the end of the season.

Definitely don't want to commit to buying him back but giving him half a season to prove himself would be acceptable for me.

Before yesterdays game i did not think Berba had it in him - but he was Brilliant yesterday. His touch, strength, desire and vision - add him to this team and he'll link up the midfield and the wingers and could also form a partnership with Soldado.

Pretty sure I read somewhere that Berbatov said he wouldn't have considered coming back to Spurs in the summer he joined Fulham.

Can't see Levy wanting him, considering the way Berbatov left the club. I haven't forgotten the fact that he refused to play for us, then went behind Levy's back to meet with Fergie, and I doubt Levy has either.

I'll put that down to bad representation.

I think he is the most realistic target, PL proven, still have many things to offer, not too expensive, player wants to leave, I think he wants to play for us too

I would still have him back because he is class but only if the price/wages are right. Still a somewhat risky transfer; I believe his attitude can be pretty poor overall and he can be very disinterested at times. It's moot anyway for me as I very much doubt it would eventuate given the history.

True, but so did Modric and Bale.

Both players we've regularly heard were top professionals and really nice guys.

It seems to be what all modern footballers do when they want to force a transfer.

Berbs has helped get Jol fired twice though so it is a risk.
