Still in the game, options on the bench.

I still feel positive, Chelsea can't keep up that kind of press for much longer.
Well, the players that are doing it now wont be able to, but the 5 players that come on to replace them will.

Stupid rule. Bah.

Not entirely sure why anyone is particularly surprised by what's happening.

They beat us pretty easily each time we played them last season. They finished above us. They've made signings that are direct first eleven improvements and are comfortably winning this at the moment.

Conte needs to earn his money and we need to hope that perisic and bissouma come on and are an improvement on what we have.
I’m not surprised that Chelsea remain a quality team. I am surprised that Conte, as a top class manager, appears to have learnt nothing from last seasons games against Chelsea!

This one isn't on the players, it's on the manager - needs to put them in a place to succeed. Only players that I can be positive about that half are Lloris and Dier, which says it all. When you get overrun like this against a team of comparable quality it's on the tactical setup.
It's not comparable quality.

Holjberg doesnt get on their bench.

And thier wing backs are levels above ours.

Yes weve got a better front 3 but if you cant get any possesion in the midfield you are struggling.

This isn’t complicated and it Isn’t mainly about the performances of Spurs players. It’s mainly about managers and formations and tactics. And it’s 80% about midfield.

The reason Bentancur and Højbjerg can’t keep the ball is not because they are bad footballers, it’s because they are constantly being closely marked by two of the best ball winners you can find. And the reason Chelsea can close-mark those two is because they have Jorginho right behind them sweeping up, who is one of the best deep lying playmakers you can find.

It is exactly what they did in four matches last year and Conte doesn’t have a tactical tool in the box to deal with it.

The argument for an Eriksen or Maddison in a front 3 is so we can match up a midfield 3 in games like this. Son seems to be trying to do that today but it’s just not his game. Need someone who can retain the ball.

Don't think PEH is playing badly, he's got an impossible job. He's 2v3 at best and 2v4 at worst. Their numerical adv is in midfield and ours is at the back. Their midfielders are creating chances and our defenders aren't starting anything.

If in the second half we get the space to break then we can expect to see more of the type of foul by James on Son. Touchel said they have to stop Spurs hitting on the break before it starts and that is what he Meant.

Lol indeed, where did I say it was “the” reason. It’s very clear we are getting outnumbered in the middle of the pitch and PEH + the front three are nowhere near on point with misplaced passes. As I said in my previous post. But a lack of creativity is also “one of” the differences imo.
It's been sloppy all over the pitch mate, and they've been far more aggressive in the press. It's been a piss poor showing for sure this far, but I think it's been more about us not turning up than the actual shape. Let's hope he fires some fucks into them at half time.

They absolutely can, because they're hardly having to do anything. It's not like they're sprinting around like maniacs.
