Exactly. As long as the players work up a bit of a sweat and need to catch their breath after coming off, job done. Was at the Colchester game and while it was'nt a great game, it served it's main purpose well which was to get some game time under the players belts.
Really think that some people lose sight of the real purpose of these early pre season games, which is all about building up player fitness before the new season.
It was Roma who we battered wasn't it?
THE GOOD OLD DAYS, WHEN OUR STRIKERS USED TO SCORE GOALS
What kind of player is Dombaxe? The passing was pretty crisp, you could see it was coming together. I was left feeling optimistic seeing the quality of some of our youngsters, especially Dombaxe and Coulthirst in the second half, they looked very strong and composed on the ball. Harry Kane also saw a fair bit of the ball and would have scored if it wasn't for a bit of a wonder save from the Colchester keeper.
Carroll and Vertonghen ran the midfield in the first half, the latter playing a bit of a Pique Barcelona role. He was passing it about for fun and along with Dawson, easily dealt with the occasional counter or cross. Shame we didn't get a few goals but they will come.
There was a funny moment during a quiet spell where a couple of little kids in the east stand got a 'yid army' chant going and then recieved a chorus of 'yiddos, yiddos' from everyone in the north stand. Fair play to those kids!
That is one of the single worst comments I've ever seen on here.
Are you honestly saying you're not happy because in the good old says we didn't used to fuck about when we signed Gilzean or Mullery and you don't understand why things are a little bit different now nearly 60 years into the future?
Jesus fucking wept.
