You want to bring in two ahead of Mason and Bentaleb? Block chances for Alli and to a lesser extent Winks? Seems pretty certain we'd play a two.

Personally I'd rather play three but I'd certainly rather have two better cm's playing ahead of Mason and Bentaleb. I honestly don't know enough about Alli but I imagine given his goalscoring from last season he'll feature initially at least in the attacking three rather than the central two. Either way I wouldn't want to go into a season with the four possible CM options having just a total of two seasons PL experience between them
It's fine giving youth a chance but it would be silly to assume that you can just chuck in youngsters without some experience around them, also we were badly lacking leadership and character last season and though it doesn't automatically exempt young players extra experience can help players be comfortable pushing other players

I think you underrate Mason and Bentaleb, and Alli is a central midfielder, he won't play in the three.

It was more often than not the experienced players last season who made the individual errors last season, not the young players.

Berahino, Werner and Bender but would happily take kramer, would prefer more experience which bender has but I think we will only sign two.

Sell Chriches, Lennon, Ade and maybe Soldado.
Buy McCarthy (or similar) as DM/CM
Buy Berahino as WF/CF
Buy Austin (only if Soldado is sold)

I think you rather overestimate Mason and Bentaleb, as for experienced players making individual errors, I think some experienced players made a individual errors mostly though they were new or pretty new to the PL, but equally there were plenty of individual errors made by the young players.

Defensive mistakes are always noticed more because they cost goals but mistakes occurred all over the pitch, poor passing, poor tackling, failing to read situations and being out of position. However in the more central areas there are generally more players around to help save an individual error. Sure individual errors cost us a number of goals but I think actually our shape and style tends to create situations where players particularly defenders were more exposed to situations where individual mistakes cost us, full backs that can't defend, centre backs playing a high line that they were not best suited, attacking players with little idea of when or how to drop back and defend and a central midfield far too pre occupied with running around trying to put out fires to read attacks and close players or provide a drop back cover.

Other more mature and experienced teams playing a less attacking shape and style will also make some individual mistakes but tend to have more players around to save a number of mistakes from costing goals

As for Alli, I know he's supposedly a central midfielder but I think it will be a tough indoctrination to step into just a midfield pairing, I just don't see Poch starting him there and feel that he may very well want to play him initially in a more advanced role given the goals he scored last season and maybe providing some of the dropping back to cover and more advanced closing that was often lacking last season at least until he finds his feet. I hope he proves a great player, but it's a big ask to expect a young player to step right in and shine. especially amongst a number of pretty inexperienced players, he'll need time to settle and imo a couple of better quality mids around him

On a slightly different note, I wonder if there are 3 players in the world that we could sign that would enable us to win the league. I think we're all agreed we need a centre mid, pacy winger and striker/winger. I'd want prem proven as I'm sure we'd manage to ruin Messi if we got him. So I'd go for;

Modric
Bale
Ronaldo / Suarez

Crazy that two are ex spurs players. Even crazier that I'm not sure we'd even win the league. Would be nailed on for fifth though!
