Everyone talking about subbing out a forward or Skipp, why not sub out a defender to get more control of the game? We are outnumbered (as always) and the reason is we have to many at the back.

Skipp has been absolutely diabolical. Red card waiting to happen. The system isn't helping. We simply don't have the players capable of making it work.

Can you blame him?

Hojbjerg and Skipp is not a strong midfield. Turn to the bench to see why you've got - Sarr?

Son is in dreadful form. Turn to the bench ...........erm?

Gil is weak and lacks impact. Turn to the bench......erm?

Doherty has a lack of quality. Turn to the bench. ......Emerson?

It's pathetic for a supposed top 4 team
LOL, forget about Deki, Richarlison who are injured, Bissouma and Bentancur, realistically you can add one more attacker instead of Lucas and no midfielders. Hojbjerg and skipp are very good players and he still has Son and Kane in attack. Better coaching needed

And I get that. 2 in cm does not work for us. But we lack options at the moment.

But I don't think Sarr or White will do anything in a 2 if they come on.
Adding them in a 2 is definitely a risk but Conte must see this issue in this game and every other game recently and realise that a 2 is not working.

Teams are starting to play a 3 in midfield. Sarr had a good cameo against Villa, I would not be adverse to him coming on for Gil or even a centre back to just get a foothold in the middle.

I am just frustrated at the moment. The players are not playing well, a lot of them are not good enough, the manager seems averse to changing tactics and we have an owner who is being a ****!

The joys of supporting Tottenham.

I thought I heard “Daniel levy, get out of our club” then it changed to “come on you spurs”

why would sky plug in fake noise?

It was just faint chants of Levy get out of our club was all, then come on you Spurs and a bit later Antonio chants. It's what we need more of.

We can't argue with hojbergs goals and assists but his general play is regressing
I don't know that it is "regressing" as much as it is he is being asked to do more - and just does not have that in his locker.

He is what he is - a guy who will work hard for the team, but isn't going to be a creative passer in the attacking end, or a particularly good CM to control the ball in transition. He needs a good partner - and when he has one, I think he does a decent job.

Based on the post World Cup matches I'd be very concerned giving Conte too much more money. Just does the same thing again and again. He needs to do a lot more than that IMO

Also getting tired of seeing these wingbacks not run with the ball

Don't have the pace.
This is what's killing us.

The 2 cm's shouldn't be the ones breaking into the box

We offer nothing out wide so other teams can just sit the defence narrow and crowd out our attacker's.

Decent first 15 mins, then back to sitting back, letting them do whatever they want, and being clueless on the ball. Much is made of our defensive frailty, but our attack is just as big an issue. There is no pattern, no build up, just punt it in the general direction of the front 3 and watch whilst they invariably give it away. Son and Gil are ridiculously easy to dispossess, and Kanes hold up play is pretty weak these days unless he comes super deep and gets some space. Without Kulusevski and Bentencur we basically have noone is the team comfortable receiving the ball under pressure. It's a huge problem.

That's not what I'm seeing. First 20 minutes we looked decent and as they've gained more possession we've started to panic again. Then it sets in and it's total keystone cops time. There's a massive confidence problem in this side right now, and a real lack of trust for each other. I don't see a lack of effort or players going through the motions though.
I agree but talk me out of Conte out.

He has to change to 4-2-3-1 until we get players back. The formation itself is confidence sapping now.

Wish I could give this a million winners. 3-4 injuries and our squad is shown up to be what it is. Absolutely shocking

As soon as Palace went more narrow and moved 10 yards further up the pitch we lost all control . Need another body in midfield but Conte won’t change

I honestly wish, so fucking much, that I had the mental strength to not watch us…

But I can’t. I don’t know why I put myself through it but I keep telling myself things will improve, yet they invariably do not. This season especially.

I’ll be honest, apart from some brief periods, over the last few years I tend to watch us play in a bit of a trance.

It’s almost like having a programme on in the background whilst I’m doing something else.

Occasionally it will grab my interest and then I’ll start daydreaming again.

It’s quite sad, but I just don’t care all that much anymore. At least not nearly as much as I used to.

You know what, it might be mad, but I'd move Dier to CM and make it a 3 and bring on Davies for Gil and have Lenglet in the middle.

Dier can move the ball a bit better out of his feet and would give us more in midfield.
Prepping for pochs return are we?

Playing with one forward in Kane, Gil too weak, no end product, carrying Son again, as per every game. Skipp really poor. Doherty wasted a lot of crossing chances too.
Would swap Skipp for Sarr, take son off, push Peresic further forward and bring sess on at left back.
Can we ask palace for the loan of someone to take Gils place? Or could Spence play there, at least he might not fall over and cough up possession.
