Yeah I heard the Robbi deal was part of it but they need to go through as 2 separate events for the stock exchange. Sure we will find out in due course!

Wouldn't arsenal be able to claim their percentage of the value of Robbo if it was part of the same deal?
I suspect two deals to seperate them and reduce the goons take, I know it wouldnt effect us but it would help Blackburn, and it would make me smile.

If we do want Bentley surely we wouldn't have let them have Robinson without some kind of agreement.

Exactly what i think. Its correct that Arsenal would receive 50% of the transfer including the valuation of Paul Robinson if it was done that way. I'm guessing that we accepted about £1.5m less for Robbo, and Blackburn will acceot £1.5m less for Bentley, which i rckon we've already agreed too. That would make the Bentley deal £15.5m which doesn't break the transfer fee for the 3rd time in a year. I get the feeling that Daniel Levy is trying to keep from breaking that transfer record fee unless its for someone proven world class, like Arshavin or Villa.

people were saying this was a done deal 6 weeks ago! Most ridiculous transfer i have ever come across.

Expect the his signing to be announced at 11.59 pm on the last day of the transfer window.

If we were really trying to piss the goons off with this transfer and their 50% of the sell-on fee, we'd have agreed with Blackburn to sell Robbo to them for £15m, and then to buy Bentley for £5m. That would have made me chuckle.

ummm dont think the maths quite adds up on that one although i do like your thinking!!

dont think blackburn would go for that as in the end they pay us 10m...even levy cant work miracles like that! lol

the only way we could have done it was sell them robbo for free and take that valuation off the bentley price.

Eg gooners get 50% of 13m instead of 50% of 17m.

I think

Or we sign a blackburn reserve player for £15m and bentley for a £1, giving arsenal a 50p windfall

once all of the dead wood (plus steed) are sold, there will be a flurry of arrivals....

God i hope so, i can't bear it much longer!
Time is against us and i dont possibly see how we can bring in
3-4 players and expect them to gel in time for next season.
(most stressfull holiday yet)
lets hope Ramos can do his magic.

think he's overrated and at the prices suggested above (15m+) we're being financially raped.

whilst he's decent and adds something different to our attack to lennon, i don't feel he is worth that sort of cash and feel him being an english player artificially adds to his price.

One of the best crossers of the ball in the Premiership which is something we dont have or didnt have last season.

Lennon cant cross for toffee and Steed being right footed is constantly having to check back and cross on his right when played on the left.

Good purchase although slightly higher than id want to pay. But then that happens when buying English players.
