Its the price of the player and the wages he would want for 2 or 3 seasons that people are questioning i think. The player is obviously class, but 12m for a 31 year old is silly. 6/7 million and i think we should be all over it. wont happen anyway.Tottenham fans contemplating whether signing David Villa would be worth it lmfao......

But say adding another 10m = 22m you could maybe get benteke? 22 years old. pretty much sorted for ten years. other than wages obviously. And a sell on value if we decide to sell. Hay ho. neither will happen.Get what you're saying but I'd gladly pay £12m for someone who could have the ability to take us to the next level, bagging a shedloads of goals on the way, regardless of age. It's a gamble, but we've made less risky deals for more expensive players that have turned out to be shite.
Yeah mate agree, I like all you guys that post in here but some of you are a bit obsessed with signing youngsters. Whilst I too believe we need to keep signing good young players, I think you need that mix of youth with experience, otherwise you just end up in a constant state of transition waiting for 'youngsters' to develop. Even Wenger has realized it doesnt work. Klinsmann was 30/31 when we signed him. He's far too good to play for Spurs. If he comes, we should be honoured, not slagging him off for being 31.
Christ on a fucking bike.
I see sense in pairing an unproven talent like Damiao with an experienced player like Villa. If Leandro fails to hit the floor running, you have guaranteed goals waiting in the wings. Villa would obviously be the starter, giving Damiao time to settle in and a couple of years to grow into the lead striker role.
If we could get these two for £25m and sell Ade and Defoe for £15m, we'd be so much better off for it.
We'd be foolish to flog Adebayor.
Agreed Bro,31, had a bad injury that kept him out for ages, and coming into a physically more demanding league, £8-12m + huge wages?!! no thanks, there's plenty of young, hungry talent out there for the same cost and less wages, the only problem is Spurs' seemingly not very good scouting!!
