Sorry but those saying accidental or tired are in CCL (Cloud Cuckoo Land). Re-watch slo-mo. He isn't remotely attempting to get the ball. One foot flies in just below knee. Rather than try to pull out he pushes and lifts other leg off ground and tries a sideways sweep

As I say, don't really care but let's not talk fantasy please

Yeah it was a horrendous tackle whichever way you look at it.

I don't think Alli is an inherently dirty player, but he has a bit of a nasty, petulant streak in him that he has to learn how to control.

He's far from alone though in that regard. So did Keane, Scholes and Cantona. Even Bergkamp had it, was known to stamp on players from time to time.

So was Van Persie. For a bloke who spent half his career in the physio room he was a snide bastard himself.

Could well be a turning point in his career.... Dennis wise or Paul Scholes. Take your pick Dele.

A little shit who played the dark arts to a tee or a fabulously gifted goal scoring midfielder who couldn't tackle for toffee.

I don't see the difference. Scholes, while being a much better player, hid behind the "couldn't tackle" thing for years, when in truth he could be a nasty little shit himself.

One of the worst tackles I've seen a Spurs player make, I think. Needs to learn to keep his head when the going gets tough.

It was horrible, can barely watch it again to be honest. What would be worse is if he doesn't learn from it and does it again. Yes he's done it in the past before but he's never been sent off so it hasn't been greatly highlighted. Hopefully this will really wake him up and teach him that he needs to act differently on the pitch in such moments.

I hope the primary feeling Dele has is embarrassment. a) Because it *is* embarrassing to do something so awful to a fellow pro, and b) Because shame is a quicker way to improve behaviour than chastisement.

If he did that against Chelsea last year we would be all patting him on the back like we were with Dier. Move on it was a bad challenge I am sure he will learn from it.

Dele has made mistakes but have no doubt that the anti-Spurs media (i.e. all of it) is targeting him for special vitriol. The tackle against Gent deserved what it got and nothing more. Far worse occurs every week in the Premier League. He is a fine young player who we are very lucky to have and the last thing he needs is his own fans getting on his back. Save your criticism for the likes of Yacob, Coquelin and Xhaka. Also for the deluded pundits like Merson, Nicholas and Lawrenson.

I think Dale's goal scoring record flatters him. I believe some vastly overrate him.

I'd happily support selling him.

Oh my fucking god...

Probably one of the most retarded posts I've seen in Spurs Chat. And that's really saying something.
