Then how do you explain the amazing suppotr we had when we genuinely were rubbish? You can dress it up (and down) as much as you like but caring and winning are synonymous with our fans and that's whats wrong.

How do you explain how ever many of us there were being brilliant to the very end away at the Bernebeau.
Sorry doesn't wash. There has to be some other reason why the atmosphere was better when we were watching Sinton than it is watching Eriksen.
No it doesn't. Arsenal haven't invested in the team properly, having been hamstrung by Wengers ego and their stadium. Their aim seems different to what I outlined for spurs, they are content with CL as a revenue stream - I want to use the CL to fund success on the pitch.Good reply, but makes your post which i replied to wrong then.

Well i disagree, they have money, pay better wages then us and qualify for the CL every year but have won nothing. What i am saying is that quaifying for CL is no sure way of winning things as you seem to think.
Yet pretty much every major trophy throughout Europe has been won by a champions league playing team for the last 20 odd years. Coincidence?
I'm not saying it's a sure way of winning things - if it was that easy then that would be pretty boring...but I see it as an important part of doing so. I don't want CL football as I think that's the pinnacle of achievement - I want it as a jumping off point to more.Well i disagree, they have money, pay better wages then us and qualify for the CL every year but have won nothing. Well considering that the teams who have won most of the trophys are stronger then the rest then its no surprise it is, if we start winning trophys is will attract better players and this should help win us more trophys.
CL football and the money that comes with that on a regular basis would attract these players a great deal easier than regular victories in the FA cup and Carling cup would with no CL football - of that I am certainWell considering that the teams who have won most of the trophys are stronger then the rest then its no surprise it is, if we start winning trophys is will attract better players and this should help win us more trophys.

I said CL football and money will be more attractive to top players than cup success will - I never said anything about us being able to attract potentially top players that the bigger clubs do not want as we've already proven we can attract such players without CL football or Cup successWe we have managed to attract the likes of Lloris, Jan, Lamela without being in the CL so its not as simple as that.
I think if you fall into the whole trap of seeing the race for the top four as the be all and end all of each season, then it can be a draining and deflating experience.
