74 mins Substitution, Tottenham Hotspur. Kyle Walker replaces Jan Vertonghen.
70 mins GOAL Fiorentina 2 - 0 Spurs (Agg: 3-1) - Mohamed Salah
Time to focus on that League Cup final after all. Mohamed Salah puts Spurs on the brink of elimination but it's terrible, terrible defending from Jan Vertonghen. Vertonghen has time, you've got time, TIME! - but he is caught dithering on the ball and Salah pokes the ball home.
62 mins Substitutions, Andros Townsend replaces Nacer Chadli and Harry Kane replaces Nabil Bentaleb.
53 mins GOAL Fiorentina 1 - 0 Spurs (Agg: 2-1) - Mario Gomez (54 mins)
Mario Gomez reminds me that he is not quite a washed-up striker as he pulls away from Federico Fazio to burst onto a through ball and stroke the ball between Hugo Lloris' legs. Composed finish, classy even. Fazio was at fault originally, giving the ball away on halfway.
Spurs now definitely going out unless they score - though a goal for the men from White Hart Lane would force extra-time. Three days before the Cup final...
49 mins Yellow Card - Davies after 50-50 with Badelj
HALF TIME - Fiorentina 0 - 0 Spurs
35 mins Yellow Card - Badelj for foul on Bentaleb.
29 mins Chance - golden chance, break from corner, Lamela's pass saw both Soldado and Chadli beat the offside trap and through on goal, Soldado on the ball, opted to try and give Chadli a tap in but got pass wrong and allowed Neto to collect on the floor.

Let's pray Harry does not get injured. I don't care who is at the club next season-right now it seems MoPo is making his squad and team selections to please the chairman.

I think he can't afford to do that. I think he'll put a strong team out, but would be surprised if Kane, Mason or Bentaleb start.

Full crazy is relying on one striker to stay fit and on form for the rest of the season and £60 million pounds worth of players that have delivered 2 goals between them all season in the EPL.
Anyway in these 2 cup games I pray that Kane stays fit.

I think he'll go pretty much full strength tomorrow - hoping we can get in front by two and then shut up shop.

Think he'll go for:

Lloris

Walker
Fazio
Vertonghen
Davies

Stambouli
Mason

Lamela
Eriksen
Chadli

Kane

If we're in a position to shut up shop for a win, he could take off Eriksen and Kane, and bring on Bentaleb and Dembele.

Think Dier, Rose, Bentaleb, Dembele and Townsend will come in the team on the final.

Speaking of the latter, he's had joy against Chelsea and at Wembley, playing for England Perhaps Poch will want to go as close to the side that beat them 5-3 as well. I also think Lamela will start tomorrow night, knowing the Italian League and having played at Fiorentina before. These things may not be particularly significant, but maybe they'll come into Poch's thinking.

Townsend has also started both the last two games, as has Lamela to.

Hope we play our best side.

I think that we can with both matches.

I think we can win both matches... but I think just as strongly that we can win tonight with a somewhat second string. Really, I can't see us getting a result against Chelsea if the kids (Mason, Bentaleb and Kane) aren't free of fatigue. I really don't want to see those three start this evening. As much as many of us don't rate the second string - this is what they're for. They owe themselves a big performance (and us to be fair) but I really believe we have to ignore the temptation to go full throttle tonight with team selection.

Worse case scenario is we play a full team tonight and the game goes to ET. If that were to happen, I wouldn't hold out much hope for Sunday... and I'm an optimistic dreamer at the best of times.

Based on the fact he keeps picking players we spent a lot of money on and who are not good enough.
Anyway -fuck this -Berbs scores!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2-0!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He picks what he sees is his best team on a match to match basis depending on the opposition, anything else is incidental
