I wouldn't have been against Poch staying behind at Hotspur Way and just preparing for the Chelsea game. For me Lloris, the two centre backs, the full backs, Dier, Dembele, Eriksen and Kane should stay at home. Lamela, Mason and Son could travel though to increase options.

I know its a tricky game but we have enough numbers to get something from it even if we focus on the weekends game.

In theory I agree with you, that's the solution if you really are going to concentrate on the league game. However, I don't think that was ever truly a viable option. We clearly take the competition seriously, we don't want to insult our opponents and the competition as a whole, and it would just reflect really badly on the club.

Yes I know its not practical and we'd probably get in trouble for it. Just think if we are going to sack it off then you do it properly. I couldn't give a shit about this competition until the last 16 stage. At that point we have something to play for. I consider the group stages as basically glorified pre-season games, if we cant qualify from them with our depth of squad and resources then something has gone wrong.

Poch said in a press conference that they are unsure whether to stay in Qarabag to train after the game of fly home. I would say he's taken them to train so they have more time together but that doesn't make sense with leaving a few others behind.

We could play the second string tomorrow and lose. We could play the first team on Sunday and lose also.

I think tomorrow should be a mixture of first team and second string, so I expect to see one of Verts or Toby starting, Lloris, Mason, Alli and Son too. Hopefully Dier and Kane on bench only to be used if required.

Maybe the mantra coming out of the squad is true, One game at a time. Have faith.

Also, no game after Sunday for a week.

I guess Dembele, Rose and Walker were never likely to play. Dembele can't do two games in a week, and we always rotate the fullbacks.
