And what would you have had these players doing at home? Training with the youth team? Resting? Surely it's better they're with the coaching staff and working on stuff for Chelsea if possible.
The coaching staff should stay at home with them, maybe Poch could go as I guess other stafff carry most training anyway.
Better to have an uninterupted week training anyday.

Seems very odd that we'd take Kane and Dier to Qarabag when we're leaving Walker, Rose and Dembele.

Hopefully they are just going to be on the bench to come on and score if we need/close the game up if we need.

Not happy with Harry travelling, but then I guess Poch has very little choice. N'jie hasn't been seen in a month or so, and has shown nothing to suggest he can fill Kane's shoes, even against Qarabag.

Whichever way you look at it, not signing a back up striker for Kane this summer was a massive fuck up.

Unless you look at it from the perspective that says the manager didn't want the players we were able to get, and for what ever reason the players that we wanted we couldn't get.

Not surprised with that but fucking hell it's annoying. Poch will and should get slaughtered if we don't get a result against Chelsea. FFS man, taking almost our entire squad to fucking Azerbaijan four days before a fucking massive game.

Whatever perspective you look at it, the team were left with one recognized striker going into a Premier League and Europa League campaign.

If Poch didn't like the players suggested then the scouting system failed him, if we couldn't get the players he did want, then the negotiators were at fault. Either way, mistakes were made. I refuse to believe that there was no striker in world football who fitted both our budget and Poch's profile.

Or, he genuinely thinks players like Son, Clinton, Chadli, Lamela can do a job if needed and it wasn't as big a deal as everybody else has made out.

I'd rather not be so quick to jump on people's backs all the time.

This could be an exactly replica post from the game before City where we destroyed them.

Keep the faith man!!

In that case there would be no need to bid upwards of £20mill for Berahino, would there?

There's 'jumping on people's back', and then there's asking questions of a transfer policy that has left us hauling our one recognized striker out to Azerbaijan three days before Chelsea because there's no one else to take his place. If you think that's unfair then I'd like to know in what scenario you think it's ok to ask questions of decision makers at the club. Presumably never.

Going from what we definitely know...

Traveled:
  • Ben Davies
  • Eric Dier
  • Dele Alli
  • Luke McGee
  • Harry Kane
  • Joshua Onomah
  • Shayon Harrison
  • Kevin Wimmer
  • Son Heung-Min
  • Cameron Carter-Vickers
  • Harry Winks
Not traveled:
  • Nabil Bentaleb
  • Nacer Chadli
  • Erik Lamela
  • Alex Pritchard
  • Danny Rose
  • Mousa Dembele
  • Kyle Walker
Probably safe to assume the squad is:

Lloris, Vorm, McGee
Trippier, Davies, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Fazio, Wimmer, Carter-Vickers
Dier, Alli, Mason, Carroll, Winks
Eriksen, Son, Townsend, Onomah, Clinton
Kane, Harrison

Have I missed anyone?

We might but i think that anything that reduces our chances against Chelsea by even 1% is a mistake.

Imagine how amazing it would be to see CCV and Wimmer playing together. Rogue of Poch but would be lovely to see, Hopefully Eriksen, Kane and Dier are on the bench and only come on if needed (though I expect Dier to start unless Poch has an idea of playing Wimmer in the DM position)

Lamela injured his groin for Argentina, so obviously would've missed West ham anyway. Bloody annoying if he misses chavs as well.
