£38m? Jesus. Just when I thought Chelsea were settling down a little they break the bank again. I just hope Hulk and Hazard flop big time.

Funny thing is, Hazard and Hulk play essentially the exact same position. It is one reason I refuse to care about Chelsea and what they do, they are making signings for a lot of money and I am sure some of them will prove to be excellent players but it all seems so poorly thought out and they are just signings for the sake of signings. They still have so many holes and I can't figure out exactly how they are going to set up next year at all.

As much as we would like them to flop we all know we would more than welcome both to our squad. I look forward to the challenge. Makes every minute mean more when we know the competition is fierce.

Until either sign for Chelsea I refuse to get drawn into the doom and gloom or wishes for floppiness...

My point being that at this stage its still speculation, no matter how strong.

IF they sign both players and at prices quoted then it's ridiculous. I would be more inclined to believe it was one OR the other (Hulk or Hazard), anything else is surely in flagrant disregard to FFP... oh wait... this is Abramovich's personal game of FM  complete with Edit mode.

Hazard said he's come to play in the middle IIRC. I can see them trying out

Essien
Marin Mata Hazard Hulk
Torres

Which is just plain scary.

Personally think he is the most overrated player in Europe

I'm sure there are others but i'm inclined to agree. Whenever i've watched Hulk, expecting to see a driving, powerhouse of pace and skill, i've ended up watching a Lou Ferrigno look-a-like rolling about on the floor.

No doubt he has the attributes to develop into a top player but for 38million i'd have wanted a lot more evidence to suggest he's already on his way.

Chelsea's spending this summer just seems like a giant cock-slap to Platini and his FFP rules tbh.

The Swiss Ramble says their close to being in line with FFP, the Champions League win was big in many ways.

This would be better

Ramires Mata
Hulk Hazard Marin
Torres

These would make our chocolate teapot midfield look fucking solid, my hope is that RDM or whoever they get in fall foul of trying to crowbar all their best creative players into the side at the expense of the team.

This does smack of Abramovich playing footie manager again, no real thought and strategy, just buy new shiny shiny.

I would absolutely love them to play that team against us. They would get ruined as out of all of those only Ramires can tackle.

And the fact Ramires is a pure box to boxer so isn't likely to (and completely wasting his talent too) sit in behind the rest and cover.

Their front 6 will look like this imo:

--Ramires---De Bruyne
Hulk-----Hazard------Mata
-----------Torres------------

Which does look very good. People think De Bruyne is a winger, but he's actually a central midfielder and a very good one too. Maybe it will be Lampard or Essien at first but they have Romeu and De Bruyne who are promising young options.
