Isco needs to get the memo he will never be a star at Madrid he needs to make the move like Sanchez and go somewhere to fulfil his potential

Then watches Sanchez having a massive temper tantrum on the field because he no longer plays at a club that wins all the time and decides to stick with what he has :p

Jesus!!!

You'd make space by getting rid of a fringe player thus strengthening our overall squad, not selling one of our first choice players.
Perhaps that's what you would do. I don't think Eriksen would be as happy playing second fiddle to Isco as a fringe player would. If Isco proves to be a better player than Eriksen, then sell Eriksen and keep the fringe player. That way we get more money, keep a good squad dynamic and have space for the likes of Edwards to come through.

When Liverpool brought in Mane and Wijnaldum, they didn't look to move on Coutinho, Firmino, Lallana or Origi, they were brought in to compete with them.

Those fit and in form play, those who aren't, don't. We've seen that we're still well short of being able to compete on all fronts, and that's going out of the league cup early, not getting out of our CL group and not even starting the FA cup yet. There's plenty of football for more than just Lamela, Alli and Eriksen to play a lot of games.

What I'm saying is, that if Isco did come in, then I'd rather have him, Eriksen, Alli, Lamela all competing than to sell Eriksen.

I couldn't give a fuck what Liverpool do.

Looking at our team last night, where would people see Isco fitting in?

I'm not for a moment saying he's not quality, and also am not saying that we will play the same way as last night in every game, but I'm still not quite sure where I see him fitting in, particularly with Lamela hopefully coming back soon.

Personally, if he's available, then I'd potentially buy first and ask those complicated questions later, because having a selection of quality attacking players is never a bad thing, but on this season's form (well last season for Lamela) would he get ahead of Eriksen/Alli/Lamela in what we consider to be our starting XI?

I suspect he's at least as good as each of those players, but would be big call dropping any of them.
Against the lower-table teams who will concede possession and look to park the bus, I think it would be workable in something of a 3-3-2-2 like this:

Lloris
Dier Alderweireld Vertonghen
Walker ------------- Wanyama --------------- Rose
Isco ------------------------- Eriksen
Kane Dele
We've already played Wanyama in a one-man midfield when we had that run with the 4-1-4-1 formation we played earlier in the season. This would be similar, but with a back 3 allowing the fullbacks to push further up.

The attacking midfielders could drop back to make up the numbers when out of possession. Isco has played CM on a number of occasions for Madrid and Eriksen tends to drop deeper than normal to pull the strings when we set up in 3-5-2 or 4-1-4-1 so the roles wouldn't be totally foreign to them.

Wanyama at Watford was basically sitting solo all game with Eriksen dropping to help connect play here and there. So this formation wouldn't be absurd and in fact would be very lethal IMO. Having Lamela there too allows us to drop to a 4 at the back and have one of Eriksen, Dele, Isco or even Lamela sit next to Victor/Dembele when marking defensively.

I again, am of the mindset that possession and pressing allows you to play with less muscle and if Isco were to join this side, i believe we become even stronger in possession.

I find it bizarre many still don't get this.

I piss myself when people say "but if we sign x where will he play, who will drop out of the team?"

Isco's wage demands appear to be light years away from our wage structure limits, so for this reason we should forget about signing him and pursue more realistic targets. I suspect we found that out pretty quickly when we were reputed to be after him in the last transfer window.

Unless he or his agent has in some way he has intimated that he would consider an offer of significantly reduced wages since then, and I doubt this is the case, we should move on from this as its pie in the sky. For the same reason if the wage demands of Sanchez are correct, he will inevitably leave Arsenal at the end of the season.

Well certainly if we are going to take the EL seriously then we will need the depth.
