He wants to play football....we are the only attractive club to him in this regard because he'll literally play every game unlike the other clubs around us.

If (by some miracle) he doesn't sign for us then he'll end up at Arsenal.

Not a chance he'll go City.

Those that are 'in the know', percentage wise, what would you say the chance is that he will be a Tottenham player next season?

I'm not itk but my colleague has some really good links and reckons 85-90%

Also reckons going all out for Remy

Haven't known the guy for too long and he's only opened up recently (I always try and confirm his info with JJ) but he's a decent bloke who played football at a good standard so hopefully he isn't a wum

On five live they said city are miles ahead in the vertonghen race

I think they're confusing him with van der Wiel because Vertonghen has never been linked to City. Van der Wiel however has been linked to them for years.

I'm not sure what to make of this, but Voetbal International are reporting that Spurs have made a bid of 12 mil, but Ajax are holding out for 15. Further talks to be continued later this week.

I'm confused because far lower sums have been mentioned in the Brittish press and 12m was supposed to be the aforementioned asking price. VI however are almost always right, they've announced the van Bommel to PSV transfer months before he has actually been presented (which was today).

Pardon my asking (just curious) but do you support Spurs as well as Ajax, I mean obviously your main team is Ajax but do you actually support Spurs? I've always wondered but never really been able to tell?

Belgian press have linked him to Manchester United, but looks unlikey to me. He's out of contract so there might be some truth in it.

I support Ajax and have been following Spurs since the Jol and Davids days.

Well I follow Ajax since the days I went over there to train and play in tournaments set up to spread the "Curver or Culver" method. Something or other anyway

@jouracule: Spurs initial bid for Vertonghen: €12M, rejected, Ajax holding out for €15M. Negotiations between the clubs resume this week (Voetbal Int'l)

at page 107 or so i can see the news coming: Vertonghen wears red next season...

I'm simply not convinced we can get someone like him... but that would be such a massive signing. Great centre back who can help out in defensive midfield and left back, at this price who is available and better? Go for it Levy...please just make him sign a contract as early as possible

I'd like us to sign Dembele more than Remy personally

Rémy seems to be a better goalscorer and can play wide and up front. We'd get a new striker, and Lennon competition all in one. Dembélé has only scored 2 goals all season and seems to lack end product. Fantastic dribbler of the ball and no doubt a good player but I'm not sure he's what we need.

If it means getting our man early before interest from others I think I'd prefer that Levy spends the extra 3m but then again I don't know how much we need that 3m and what our budget is.
