Does anyone know when he is expected back in the squad?

I see the physioroom.com still says no return date

I am getting worried that this is even worse than we thought

It's all feeling a bit familiar really. Still, this is THFC. We need a perma-crock on the books. A bloody shame they all seem to one of, if not the, best player at the club.

Didn't AVB say he's back training and doing a lot of fitness work?

I'm more worried that when he finally does come back he'll just be a shadow of his former self. :(

He's been out for a long long time so I would guess they are in no rush to force him back into the team. Before the last few games we looked okay at the back so it wasnt a worry. I hope he makes some appearances before the end of the year but he's going to need time to build himself back up to what he was before.

Don't expect to see much of him this season and to be honest with 8 games left I don't see the point in risking him. Saw what happened to Vidic when he rushed back from a knee injury, give Unit the maximum time to recover and come back next season after a full pre-season and form a good partnership with Vertonghen, and then pray to god that AVB doesn't rotate it every other game.

Probably the sensible option this, annoyingly.

I don't see the point in playinghim this season at all unless he has shown anything like his usual ability in training.
he has been out ofr an age, he needs time to heal and strengthen the body an then he has to get back into the swing of the psychology and re-strengthen the mind.

I don't want to risk him or Tottenham in having to play him before he is ready. All games are now crunch games... a fully fit and ready Kaboul would be a bonus, but i see next season as a more sensible approach to the long term gain.

If we can avoid rushing players back, then so much the better in the longer run (see Lennon for how not to have to do it).

Paul Hirst@hirstclass
We spoke to AVB earlier about Kaboul. He said he had been training with team over last 2 days and could be match fit again in 10 days' time...

Paul Hirst@hirstclass
AVB: "He (Kaboul) has trained the last two days 100 per cent with the team. He is going rest tomorrow and next week he is going to come back and train again with the team. If he goes without pain, it can mean 10 days for him to be match fit...
