I continue to be surprised that Spurs are potentially looking at signing Kvaratskhelia, but have not been linked at all to Sardar Azmoun, who has been absolutely dominant at Zenit over the last few years (and before that was the standout player at Rubin Kazan, too). Azmoun fits the bigger need as a complete striker with similar attributes to Kane, and he has only one year left on his contract. Lyon are trying to sign him, it seems, and the fees being mooted are seemingly less than 20 million pounds.

Sounds like a deadline day deal where we'll offer significantly less than Rubin want and hopefully, they'll be desperate enough to accept the bid.

I'm baffled that azmoun hasn't left yet

Probably due to his age. We have been buying players in their early 20s.

Could be about timing - we've got speed dial ready if we can't get Traore (obvs very different squad role, but same position), but the player can't hang around waiting for us uncertainly if there are other suitable options which are nailed on

I just hope if we learn that Traore isn't going to work out that we can pull the trigger here rapidly.

It does reek of a deal that's already 80% done in case Adama falls through, as long as one comes in, I'm happy. KK is definitely more raw, but the talent is clear as day and he's only 20 so plenty of time to utilise it. Had a look earlier and both players are averaging 0.36 g+a per 90, Kvaratskhelia could be scarily good 5 years from now if he continues to develop, he's miles clear of Adama at the same age

Agree, this seems like a deal that is already part way negotiated and could be turned on very quickly if the need allows.
I’d put Tomiyasu and Aouar on the same list.

Without knowing the legitimate numbers, it does seem like £40m+ for Traore could be reallocated to Kvaratskhelia and Eduoard, giving us dynamic wing play and also a focal striker. Arthur Cabral was another name doing the rounds last week as a project striker option. Kvaratskhelia seems like he could do some of the things Traore could, perhaps not to the same level yet, but with time to still develop further. However, most of his highlight reels show him on the left, we need someone comfortable on the right.
