go on Zenit - 2-0 well deserved :)

Rangers have been one of the most uncreative teams ever to reach a Euro final

and their fans are even more deluded than the Geordies :)

they've got a banner - the world's most successful club - hilarious

we've won three times more European trophies than them and we're not even England's most successful club

(and we beat them 5-2 and 3-2 home and away in our only euro match with them - yep a thumping 8-4 over the colossus of world football)

quality comedy from those glaswegian likely lads :)

Pathetic attitude. Their reference is in terms of league titles, I believe.

When Tottenham get to another final, you have the right to slate Rangers.

And who's the idiot who compared Rangers to Bolton? Say what you like about their football, but you work with what you've got. Rangers did far better than any of the Prem clubs who were in the UEFA Cup, including the tam who finished fifth. The morons rejoicing in the defeat of another British club do little more than highlight their own jealousy.

Like I said, get to another European final and then you can criticise. I like Tottenham and support them in the Prem, but the attitude of many people on here don't exactly make it easy.

Calm down, it's obvious you're feeling the sting of defeat.

I personally don't feel I should support another team because they're british, britain means nothing to me. I supported Zenit based on the merits of their football. Rangers are awful.

To be fair this is a Spurs forum, not a Rangers forum and the fact that Rangers are a British side makes little difference imo. Most Scottish fans certainly don't support England in the world cup finals and I bet most Celtic fans enjoyed this evening too, just as most of us enjoyed watching Liverpool knock the scum out of the CL. I believe there's also been some less than positive experiences of Gers fans talked about on here when we met them in pre season a while back.

I don't dislike Rangers at all and I would have been happy to see them win today, but as far as I'm concerned it was a game between 2 teams I am utterly neutral towards, but in the end the better side won and, happily, the side that play the more exciting football.

That's fair enough, but on what do people base the assertion that Rangers didn't deserve to be in the final?

Points are not awarded for style. Football is about winning matches. Would you rather never win a trophy and play like Brazil or win trophies and play like Rangers? You can't always do both. Rangers are in a stage of transition, having changed managers and, at the start of the season, having little money to spend on players. Losing Hutton only exacerbated the problem.

They do not promote anti-football. They are not telling everyone to play defensively. Rather, they should be something of an inspiration to to teams who do not have resources.

Ideally, money from the Hutton sale, the CL the UEFA Cup will allow spending in the summer. As it is, they have done tremendously well in a season of transition. They should be applauded for it. Instead we have idiots cheering on Zenit because Rangers are inferior technically.

Pretty much how I feel, I began to like Zenit after watching them play throughout the course of the--I was impressed after seeing them play Everton in the group stages, they lost but played some great football. I'm by no means a Zenit Ultra, but they played the kind of football that I love to watch.

Zenit deserved to win, Gers got beat--end of. Could score, even when Novo was gifted a chance at point blank. If you can't score in that circumstance...well, then it must not be your night. Gers never looked comfortable in attack anyway, they got carved up on that final goal...

Perhaps you should consult a book of famous Spurs quotations...?

I know what you're saying and while rangers earned the right to be in the final, as a football fan I want to see good football it's probably been inbred into me from being Tottenham too, the whole ethos is about being entertaining.

I hate Bolton, I hate Chelsea and I dislike Everton to watch because they play shit football, they may be efficient but they pollute my eyes with their vile filth.

Zenit were sexy and anything that sticks Vs up to negative, defensive tactics is brilliant by me.

I'll say it again. I'm a Celtic fan.

This is about jealous idiots having it in for Rangers. And no, Rangers are not awful. They reached the UEFA Cup final. Remind me of how the Prem clubs got on?

Attack is but on aspect of football. The fact that you don't find it pleasing on the eye is irrelevant. Football is about winning.

You know you're talking to Spurs fans here right Clydey?

Honestly? I actually think I'd rather play like Brazil and win nothing.

I'm glad Rangers didn't win it because I don't agree that teams who aren't good enough in the Champions League deserve a second chance in the UEFA Cup. And to make matters worse, Hutton can't play for us in the UEFA Cup even though he hasn't even played in it!

Neither Bill Nicholson nor Danny Blanchflower agreed with this, so I don't agree :snooty:

it's not about being jealous, say Bayern got to the final instead of rangers I'd have said the same. I just like to see good football & Rangers do not play good football - they bore teams to death.

The point is that it is not so black and white as you are making out. Rangers are not Chelsea, who despite having limitless funds still play dull football. Rangers' resources are scarce and they have made the most of what they have. Their intention is not to turn you off. It is to win, which is the point of football. More than that, winning and competing to this stage makes money so they can buy better players.

I assure you, if Spurs won the Prem you would not postpone celebrations because you didn't play free flowing football.
