TBF to Brendon though, fucking up Leicester's CL chances and finishing 5th is still a bigger achievement than what he did with Celtic

Brenda and Poch seem to have the same 'style' of coaching/play/management, in that they wring every drop out of their squad, but they eventually run out of steam at the critical point.

Klopp has been very similar in previous season, but they have had the fortune in their favour to carry them over the line in the last year or so where they would otherwise have missed out. The whole high energy/gengenpress (or whatever it is called) seems to have that common fault.

Failing to get a CL spot from this position would be even worse than our collapse in 2012 that cost Redknapp his job. At least then we still actually managed to finish in the top four. Imagine the same manager does that after failing to win the league from here:

Liverpool 2014-15 season run-in results under Rodgers, where we overtook them on the final day of the season. I see a pattern emerging here:

Brendan's biggest criticism and one that he seems to prove over and over is that he has no plan B.
When he was at Celtic and the players were just better than the oppo anyway, he got away with it

I'd love to be in the PR meetings some of these clubs have.

And some members on here were saying we missed a beat not signing Rodgers and going for Mourinho instead. Please stand up now and take the banter like a man. :ROFLMAO:

They're going to finish above us so there's not really much to laugh about is there? Leicester finishing at least fifth is still a very good season, even if they have blown it since the restart.

Don't be a party pooper now.

Just kidding, in all seriousness they have still done pretty well but I think we must still be careful what we wish for. Sometimes things aren't as good as they seem.

And just to clarify, my post was more to laugh about good ol' Brendan and not Leicester in particular.

If that VAR decision had not wiped out Aurier's goal due to Sonny being offside in an earlier phase then I reckon we probably would have won that game and been above them now.

That's showbiz folks.

Before the season, that would have been a massive success for them. However, this season has been no normal season. A lot of clubs had a down year, and Spurs and Arsenal sacked their managers mid season. This allowed Leicester to take the opportunity to have a tight grasp on CL and never let go. They were clear in 3rd and miles ahead of everyone. We were talking about United, Chelsea, Wolves, Sheffield, Spurs and Arsenal in a shout for 4th. To not only bottle that position but very possibly lose out on Champions League is a HUGE failure whatever way you put it.

They don't have the squad depth of Chelsea, Wolves out United Yes, they've been crap since the restart, but they've lost three of their four best players to injury, while other teams have regained players they thought would be out for the season. Would they have blown this lead if Covid hadn't struck? Who knows?

And why does it always have to be about bottling it? It's such a cliche. Injuries, luck, tactics all play a part, but no, they went out against Bournemouth and were too scared to play football.

Nothing to do with bottling it - Leicester just aren’t particularly good. They’re 11th in form over the last 25 games. That their early season form was almost good enough on its own to bag CL football next season highlights just how poor many of the usual suspects have been this season - us included. If Utd and Chelsea get 3rd and 4th it’s a huge missed opportunity for Leicester, Wolves and one or two others.

4 points off cl , what a collapse. I remember reading the Leicester fans saying that bergwjin should join them instead of a Europa League team

Ironic
