Salah has been on fire but after him Coutinho has been better than Mane and Firmino this season, imo.

I’m not necessarily disagreeing with you as they’re receiving a massively inflated fee and if invested wisely they could come out of it well but Coutinho is their best creator, imo, and they’re losing him. Replacing him won’t be easy.

Mahrez, for example, is a good player but not as good as this seasons Coutinho. Lamar could be good buy but I’ve only seen him play a few times and you always take a slight risk buying players with no prem experience.

He's their Eriksen.

Barca are going to have to move on a few squad players to make this work. That's a whole lot of the Neymar money for a player nowhere near Neymar's level. Not that many are.

You can see why Liverpool would take the money but January is an odd time to do the deal, unless they have someone else lined up (linked to Mahrez today...). They also need a goalie.
I'm expecting the links for Andre Gomes to us now.

They are losing their minds on RAWK. I can kind of understand why as well. Seems crazy to sell him in Jan when you’re still in CL and sat 4th in a very tight fight for top 4. Oh well great news for us as he is a quality player and they’ll really struggle to replace him.

Liverpool have a fantastic record of investing large amounts of money on players.
Personally I can't wait lol.
I think they should go all out for Andy Carrol :ROFLMAO:

Fuck's sake. It would be downright immoral if they were to add Mahrez to their attacking department.

Looking for the silver lining, maybe it would mean Salah heading to Madrid. :blackeye:

Wouldn't really matter that much, they've been playing Coutinho in a 3 man midfield and he's been their link between midfield and attack, they need to find someone like him, there a not many out there which suggests one of the reasons why he cost that much.

Thats the thing, these players command these fees for a reason.
Like selling Modric, Berbatov, Bale, even Carrick, it doesn't matter how much money you get for them, they're irreplacable and it totally fks up the way your team are set up to play.
If we sold Kane for £250m+ I guarantee whoever we brought in we would not be as good. Whoever bought him though would be a shit load better.
Theres no way on Earth imo Liverpool come out of this better off.
Finish outside the top 4 now and how will any possible new players or the existing players view this move? Not well I suggest.

I'd say its equivalent of us now losing Alli, Son or Eriksen. I'd be fkin distraught.

If it happens that is.

It's more Eriksen, he's our link man, if we lose him we are well and truly fucked because there not one player in our squad can do what he does.

Agree. I meant more in terms of general ability rather than like for like although you could argue he is their best player which would be like us losing Kane.
As long as they're upset thats the main thing :sneaky:

I see.

What is Lallana's remit?

The one thing is for sure is that they will go straight out and buy someone else. If they end up with Lemar it won’t feel quite so good. Also, the fact they bought him for 8 mil and sold him for 140 is really quite impressive. Not really much to laugh at here I don’t think.
