I mean, i’m pretty sure the line is referring to their holligans getting into fights with madrid hooligans in Kiev last year and definitely not Hillsborough or a supporter being stabbed at Anfield.

Anyway, isnt this the club that got all English sides banned from Europe for a few years? Get off the high horse for once in your sad little lives, scousers

Apparently Pep has taken 906 points out of a possible 1,104 in the ten years he’s been a manager.

Even allowing for the teams he’s managed and the resources at his disposal, that is a ridiculous record.

No doubt he’s the best manager in the world right now.

I'm reserving judgement until he's able to do something really special like win the CL with Kieran Trippier at right back ;)

Joking aside, I think he's probably the best manager in the world at managing an elite group of players. He's able to take a team of superstars and manage the egos and get them all to work their socks off and play to the best of their abilities, which is something even the best managers often struggle with. For me though, and I know this is an old cliche, he won't go down in history until he's shown another string to his bow i.e. the ability to turn an average team into an elite group of players. All the managers who are the sort of "legendary" icons of the game throughout history at some point in their careers turned a poor team into a good one. So far Pep hasn't ever done that.

A load of hot air. Nothing will happen, alas. Strange also that so many negative stories about City have hit the racks since media darlings Liverpool bottled title.

I'm not so sure nothing will happen. They got a reasonably big fine for FFP breach in 2014. This is potentially their second major breach, so UEFA would have to do something even more severe.

I don't think UEFA timed the ending and publication of their investigations to coincide with this. This would be big news whenever it broke.

Well exactly. They investigated a club with a virtually unlimited pot of money and decided to punish them by giving them a fine. That just goes to show how toothless UEFA are.

It'll get argued about for a bit to keep up appearances, but in the end City will get off with some sort of meaningless punishment like another fine or a January transfer ban or something. I have no faith whatsoever in UEFA to punish them in a way that will hurt.

Just heard that the New York Times story that mentioned the potential CL ban was apparantly a leak from one of the investigators who was trying to put pressure on UEFA, test the waters and see how far it could go.

I agree with you, I have little faith in UEFA actually acting accordingly.

The trouble is, if uefa don’t act now, FFP is dead in the water. So it’s time for them to either do something about it or allow a financial free for all.

City are cheating the system, there’s absolutely no doubt about that. So if uefa want to, they can very easily make an example of them.

If they do get banned, it likely won’t be until 2020/21, the pressure on Pep to win the Champions League next season will be monumental.

You sure about that.?

Everytime UEFA have gone or threatened to go for them City have found a loophole. City have set themselves up for this, they've hired a whole team of high end consultants and lawyers who now how to get round this shit and future proof them against any wrong doing, UEFA don't stand a chance.

You’d figure Chelsea would have the funds to have found a loophole to their little indiscretions too wouldn’t you. But they didn’t. Sure City have fancy lawyers and unlimited money, but if uefa didn’t think they had a concrete case I doubt it would have moved forward to the current stage.

City are saying stuff in the statement they’ve put out about “irrefutable evidence” of their innocence. Seemingly uefa have looked at that “irrefutable evidence” and just shrugged.

This will come down to whether UEFA want to enforce FFP or not.

I don’t disagree. I’d love to see what he could do with a second tier club. If he ever fancied that type of challenge, I could actually see him at Arsenal one day. God forbid.

I really think he would consider Arsenal to be beneath him.

Imo, City could be last serious club he manages. I could see him do a year or two in Qatar and then take the Spanish national team and then retire.

It will probably go to the court of arbitration of sport in the end. Uefa banned milan but the cas overturned that giving them a fine instead. We'll see if city's case is different.

One of the biggest jokes uefa do is handing out fines to the moneybag clubs breaching the rules. The Citys and PSGs of the world could not care less.

Until clubs got banned or points deducted why even bother at all.
