As it was 2009 it depends on your quantification of several and few. Essentially though, once the top 3 or 4 from the major leagues were going into the CL, it wasn't the same competition

So what's the point of Football competitions then?

Might as well scrap em all and leave Prize Money instead.
is that what you want?
Top 4 is more important than an Honour?

I can't think of any of the current PL sides who wouldn't take losses away to Man Ure, Chel$ea and Liverpool as their only ones after twenty five games. The loss at Liverpool was well deserved but we were unlucky for the other two.

I see progress, and plenty of it.

The naysayers, are just young kids who haven't lived through the barren, dire, fucked up depressing years of football brought to us by Neil, Gross, Francis, AVB, Sherwood, Graham, and Shreeves.

Since Nicholson we have only had around four or five managers worthy of that name in Burkenshaw, Venables, Pleat, and Redknapp that brought good football and success.

For some on here to go off the fucking rails over one poor game is beyond sanity, it really is.

I've been watching Spurs since the 77 season in the old division 2 and I would say that Pleat's team of 86-87 were the best team I witnessed and in all honesty should have gone on a won the league that year. 1993 -2003 was the most baron and turgid years. Improvement came with Jol and Arneson. Redknapp's teams at times played great football, but never consistent. Poch's teams are athletic, strong and combative, just missing that game changer to make us title winners.
