With investment in the summer and growing evidence of Klopps influence on their game plan, they could be a real threat next year. And could arguably become better than us next season. That just isn't known. But its silly and naive to scoff at the suggestion that we will have more challengers next year, including Liverpool.
It's funny, because what I have been seeing all over is oppos fans gloating before the event because they still haven't grasped what is going on with our youth set-up, and still simply believe Poch will leave and we will sell anyone that the very top tier clubs want, this summer, and become a mid-table team in time for next season. And that is still, of course, showing the ignorance of not appreciating that we have been 5th or 4th for the best part of the last decade, and not even sixth. Should we be worried by Liverpool? No. And that is what is funny...our rivals should be fearing us right now, and, for the most part, they are still too complacent to realise that. I am looking forward to next season because I can only see us improving and that should wipe the smiles off a lot of smug faces.
I was just getting ready to ask your opinion on the game, well you already know I said Liverpool would beat them over the two legs, I dont think Dortmund are as good as people made them out to be, we just threw the game with the selection and I was disappointed we did that. I dont think there is much to choose between the two sides but we are better because we are more consistant.Liverpool just showed us exactly how to play against Dortmund.
They also played very well against us at Anfield at the weekend.
Klopp seems to be really getting them in a good shape and he hasn't even bought any players yet!
Is Klopp a better manager than Potch or does he just know how to play against his old team and are they a better team than us tactically under Klopp?
Discuss...
I am not worried about Pep, premier league is a much, much different proposition to the la liga or the German League, his rep might be in pieces before his time in the PL is up.Over the season they've not been better but right now I'd say they're looking worryingly good for the future. Them under Klopp + Man.City under Pep next year, going to be very tough for us.
They are where we were at this point in MP's first season. Able to match the best sides in one off games, but unable to perform consistently even against weaker teams. Everyone knows Klopp is a good manager but his squad is a long way from what he'd like, and he faces a Summer of struggling to move over paid players on, and trying to pull his targets in without CL and possibly without European competition at all. Then he has to settle a squad full of changes, and hope they all adapt to the Prem. Same with Pep this season at least. I think we are in very good shape for next season having a very settled young and improving squad, and we are actually along with the Scum the only top side who are in this fortunate position.
It's not Pep I am worried about, it's a fully fit Kevin De Bruyne! I think he will go on to become the best player in the league.
Liverpool? Of course they are a massive threat. Big club with lots of pulling power and a top class coach. Anyone saying different is saying it out of hope more than anything imo.
If we keep hold of Poch and ad a couple of quality signings then I am very confident we will not only maintain but improve next term.
Ever so slightly worried about Poch though. Effing United
IMHO, both teams are about on par right now. We prloritised to challenge the league title, while pool going hard to win the Europa and qualify for UCL. I mentioned before that our First XI is on par with Dortmund's.

I don't see how you have come to that conclusion.
I don't think Pool's league position has been affected by their EL campaign anymore than ours has.
We started in a strong way and improved throughout the season. Liverpool are only recently starting to show any improvement under Klopp. Hence we are 17 points ahead of them.
Next season might be a different story but we've certainly been better than them this season.

Yes agree, this season we are better.
Right now I don't think they have improved sufficiently to be on par with us. Our form is better and we were the better team at their ground.
