It's been a trait of Agentinian football for a while now, trying to pass the ball into the net rather than play with a flourish.

I find our lack of goals disturbing.

Yep, but not just our lack of goals, we're struggling to create good chances. Think we're just lacking goal threats in the pitch. Creativity in the final 3rd is terrible, we actually seem quite clueless at times. We have lots of possession but our ability to turn that into chances is a serious problem.

I think we underestimate just how much we rely on Kane. Not just as a finisher, but creating his own opportunities too. I know we've had a few wins without him and obviously the great performance against City, but I believe a lot a lot that is down to Son having purple patch.

Even against City, as good as the performance was, the match was won through our intensity, energy and aggression, rather than devastating attacking play. There wasn't too many moments of quality.

Yea not sure what it is or how we improve it, but yesterday we didn't look threatening at all from open play. Similar stories for at least half the games against wba, Bournemouth and Leverkusen. When we're controlling the game we can fashion half chances but when we're under the cosh we look completely ineffective as a counter attacking team.

need to be a bit more gung ho. its that simple. but not sure that is Pockys philosophy. especially when we were losing 2-0 and he bought off a DM and bought on a DM.

................Lloris
Walker dier Vertonghen rose
...............Wanyama
..............Alli
Lamela ....Eriksen ..Son
.............Janssen

The biggest problem I have when trying to pick our best team is balance

I feel we have a lot of very good players but the balance is still slightly off

Janssen would probably play his best with kane as a number 10 behind him and alli bombing on from midfield. But yiu could argue that would not be best for kane or the team

Lamela, eriksen and Alli all seem best as a central AM but it's difficult to get them all in to the team effectively with the right balance

Son seems capable of solving the issue of balance in am on the left side so long as rose and walker get forward and provide width we can make the inverted WF work with lamela on the other side

I'd be tempted to drop either eriksen with alli being pushed forward for dembele or just a straight swap dembele and alli ahead of wanyama

I find it very frustrating that we have such a talented squad and are so capable of producing great performances but as of yet we are just slightly off with our overall balance and it's leaving us just shy of being a top team

Lack of goals is bad, lack of decent chances is worrying

You know what, I'm not really worried about lack of goals because we know we can score but you're right it's the lack of chances created which is a concern, even when Kane returns we'll still have the age old problem with creating chances and being clinical around the box.

Janssen would look and do a lot better if we played to his strengths. He's strong and can hold the ball up/lay it off well, and judging by last season he can finish too.

The problem is that, even with our 1st 11, there is barely any movement around him, let alone past him, by our other front players. He's isolated. Kane had the same problem last year but perfected his shift and shoot routine, and was bang in form. And had confidence.

Janssen is getting fuck all service for a target man. He's dropping deep because otherwise he'd have virtually no touches of the ball, and he's trying to make something happen.

This is so bloody obvious, it's either not being addressed in training, or its being ignored.

That might of been true last night but when Ali plays it is different
I think overall we got what we deserved. Our play was slow, predictable and lacked passion and Liverpool to a man won every 50/50 ball that was for the offing. Winks and CVV did reasonably well but Josh and Nocando looked well out of place. Credit to Vorn for his excellent saves keeping us in the match. We just did not get going until Wayama came on and by then it was too late.

I thought Josh did Ok with what he had, not much around him to help and no-one making runs. Was disappointed with left side though.

Yeah I said as much a few weeks ago. We have too many number 10's. Lamela imo needs to be central to do his best work and the same can be said of Alli and Eriksen.

Now originally Son and N'jie were brought in to solve this problem and Son is starting to come good. Obviously N'jie didn't work out and now we have Count Dooku and Sissoko. I still don't see Sissoko as a RWF and we have to be patient with Count Dooku.

Problem is, with all this talk of challenging at the top patience isn't at a premium. To compete at the top end and try and establish ourselves in the top four we need to be more productive in the final third. We drew far too many gamed last season, but it didn't matter so much because of the strange nature of the season and the under performing bigger clubs.

Not this season no.

Too many teams ahead of them plus they sold one of their most important players to Chelsea.

Wakey wake. The statement 'Leicester wont win the league' was being said last year. I was responding to a post stating we wont win the league etc etc.;)

If a team makes 10 changes they are obviously not taking it seriously or fussed about winning. If Spurs are not bothered, neither am I.

Did alright from what I saw. The game was always going to be sacrificed for some fringe players to get game time - reserve players fill in for injuries, they're not all played at once if you want to win the game. GKN and Janssen will never sharpen up otherwise. The young players got big game atmosphere experience and the management ran the rule over CCV and Winks again. A win was not expected and would have just been a bonus. We better go all out in the other competitions now though otherwise I'd be proper pissed off.
