Should have heard the BT commentator (that wasn't Owen)

Actually said the following after Owen had praised Chiriches... "He is a no nonsense sort of defender, keeps it simple and doesn't try anything flashy..."

So basically what he was saying was. "who is this player? I have never seen him before."

How about this from Owen, after Adebayor scores first goal

"Too bad, Tottenham are missing a player like Adebayor":eek::eek:

I'll never belittle last season's result. For me that was AVB's greatest moment as a Spurs manager, and the happiest memory I'll have of his time in charge. Simply to overcome the psychological issue of having not won there for so long was a huge achievement

So so true. I feel the exact same way and said it to my utd mate on New Year's Eve.

Naturally winning at Old Trafford is never to be underestimated, and we played some great football last night. But that was a poor Man Utd, and defensively they were hopeless... Adebayor was unchallenged, and Valencia simply went to sleep, allowing Eriksen to sneak in. Great football to get there, but embarrassingly easy goals to finish. Soldado should really have made that two, but his finish was 'knee' good (sorry... :sorry:).

So teeth gnashingly frustrating is Soldado, he's playing more like a VDV at the moment with great movement, excellent touches, and some exquisite passing last night... but FFS score the simple ones!! Actually scrap that, VDV scored them as well.

But so impressed with everyone in the team really. Capoue and Dawson were monstrous for me, Lennon gave Evra nightmares (again), Adebayor continues to play like Pele (really... what is he after?), Eriksen is just so, so good. Even players who I have struggled to rate impressed me, with Rose showing a composure that has eluded him at times, and Ciriches looking more solid with each game... although got caught hopping by Welbeck for their goal. Lloris continues to terrify me at times, exhibiting yet more crazy french goalkeeper syndrome (often known as "doing a Barthez"). A Fergie influenced ref would have given that.

Which actually leads me onto Man Utd and their "decline" this season. This is the same team that Fergie somehow scared into winning a title, yet they play no different imo. The big difference to me is simply that the decisions don't go their way anymore. Fergies presence in the stand still seems to conjour 5 mins injury time from his arse, but we all know that last season and before, over the last 20 years) would have seen Man U get those 2 penalties, several free kicks, and us a couple of red cards. Man Utd are still Man Utd, only the ref's don't have their backs anymore.

Soldado just needs to bury one and he's off and running. Having ade in the team really takes the pressure of him though.

Not sure what to make of that Young penalty shout. Young had shot before there was contact, but he was caught. BT commentators did not think it was a penalty, MOTD did.

I would say its not a penalty, there wasn't enough contact from Lloris to bring Young down who was jumping over Lloris. As one of the BT commentators said (probably Owen...) if he doesn't jump out the way its a penalty.

Great great win yesterday, very happy with our commitment and effort. The majority of our players had excellent games.

Was bold of TS to go 442 again but it works well and we always like we can score now.

Hats of to Lennon, doesn't matter manager or what squad we have, our team is always much better with him in it.

Anyone know whether Holtby and Sigurdsson are injured? They haven't made the squads the past few matches. Or are they just out of favour?

Another nail in Moyes's coffin. He's starting to sound as bitter as Rodgers did at Liverpool last season.

Lloris was great BUT BUT BUT did anyone notice that not one of his twenty or so long clearances actually went to a spurs player.

Also over 80% ot tottenhams throw-ins went to a United player!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stat site has it down as 5 out of 21 complete
His passing was very poor as many have already said, but only completed 23% of his passes...

Great to see Soldado looking so happy during the celebrations for Eriksen's goal. He's loving it!

I noticed that too. Also the team really celebrating with Soldado after the panalty against Stoke too. It gives the impression of a very united group of players who are playing for each other.
