Earlier in the week I found myself rather disinterested in this game given our recent form, but as it's gotten closer and I've thought more about it my anticipation has skyrocketed. Been hardly able to think about anything else today, fuckin pumped.

I still don't think we're all that good mind you and especially the positivity brigade here, but neither is Man U and Old Trafford has been a point farm for us recently. I think as a result of that, and everything else surrounding their season, they'll be the ones coming into this with more nerves. We stay focused, keep shape, and feed on their nerves by frustrating them with the press then I see no reason we can't keep our sexy win streak at OT alive.

2 wins out of 2 not good enough for you?

Considering they were against a very poor QPR and Swansea who we always do well against regardless of form - and we let them both back into it late as is - and that we didn't win once in five matches prior to them, no I don't think that is very good recent form.

I will take a bore draw now...
Win would be awesome but not expecting much. United have played really good against top teams in league this season. I expect them to turn up.

With the form Liverpool and Arsenal are in, I think we really need to win this match. United probably can't afford a draw either, given that they have such a difficult set of fixtures coming up, so the game should be open.

We need to really be pressing high up the pitch in this one though, and make them uncomfortable at the back. That means Townsend, who all of a sudden has become an automatic starter based off one very good run and goal against Swansea, will need to be serving as the pressing trigger alongside Kane after De Gea releases the ball. I'd prefer Lamela start with Eriksen, and Chadli, but Poch has kept Lamela on the bench for 5 of the last 6 games, so I'm guessing he's going to be out of the side for the foreseeable future unless Townsend has 2-3 consecutive poor performances, which he is very capable of.

I'd opt for Fazio in this game, as we look shaky from set pieces lately, and they don't have the pace to get behind him in their front four.

You can only beat what's infront of you. 6 points out 6 is good form. Obviously today is more of a test but you try and tell Kane that his 2 goals against QPR don't mean as much!

If you choose a small enough sample size, any interpretation can be taken. I personally don't view a mere two games as strong enough indication of form for this reason, but to each their own.

Fair enough, it's a good enough sample to be the players to carry confidence into the utd game though and that's all really matters.

I have woken up this morning really not looking forward to this match, been quite confident all week.

If there is one dead cert today it's that Rooney will score.

Now that is very true.

Well, I'm actually about to do the reverse and go to sleep, and I'm doing so feelin pretty good about this one. I don't think we'll be as nervous as they will be, as the pressure is immensely on them. I think that factors heavily in our favor. It may not be enough for us to win, but it's enough that it makes this Yank go to sleep with anticipation rather than dread (y)
