Realistically, this season might be our last best chance to sneak our way into the Champions League for the foreseeable future, in my opinion. We already have an inferior squad to Chelsea, City, Liverpool, Arsenal, and United. What the hell do you think is going to happen when all of these teams spend another 100 million pounds this summer, while losing no first team starters? With the new television deal, these teams are going to be net spending like crazy snapping up all the top players from the continent, while we seemingly will be forced to sell to buy. No amount of promoting from within or loanees coming back from the Championship and League One will be able to close the gap on the top 4. We need to spend and bring in quality, experienced players if we want Pochettino to ultimately be a successful manager here. There is ZERO guarantee that a team will naturally improve as they age, as we've seen with Everton going massively backwards this season.

I will say that we have to accept somewhat that we have some inexperienced players out there, they will have games where they struggle and are rattled, and they will struggle. Its the only way they will learn.

However tactically you have to try and give yourself the best chance. And I don't think Poch has done this unfortunately. You cannot just play the same way every single week. Away from home against a big team, 4-3-3 with a packed midfield and Dembele on the flank even making a four. I have banged on about it for like three years now, it never happens.

Personnel selections have not worked at all, some have been strange.

We haven't even smartened up during the half, as I just said we should have dropped deep and reduced the space to play in, been disciplined and patient and played on the counter. Instead we are half chasing them with no structure and we are getting cut apart. Yet it just doesn't change. It seems its Plan A until the death.

Big effort needed second half to recover a bit of pride.

What very very strong reactions on here. We have played badly. I think Mason and Bentaleb have sat too deep and the additional centre back running into midfield means that we are crowded out. Having said that Walker has been poor and we have give them too much room in our half. With Fellaini giving them that outlet means that we are struggling. Think the only alternative is 4-4-2 but dont know if we have that possibility - Kane too isolated. We need an Ade actually
