Most of us really want Mourinho but for me its not because I think he is the best manager and certainly not for his style of playing, I only prefer him as I think he has th best chance of:
A. Keeping hold of Modric/Bale
B. Attracting the best talent.

Would be interesting to see who the players would like though, we are all assuming Mourinho but not sure VDV would be too happy nor Adebayor?

I believe they would all request to leave and Modric probably would tbh IMHO

Regardless of the manager, we'll still almost certainly be in the Champions League next season so I don't think a 'lesser' manager would necessarily mean players wanting to leave.

I don't know about Moyes though. Very inexperienced at a big club (with respect to Everton who've had very limited resources the entire time he's been there) and certainly not used to the Champions League.

Deschamps? Interesting one. To say he was a disaster at Juve is a bit unfair considering he got them promoted and won them a trophy despite all the match fixing shenanigoats.

He's managed three teams and won the league with all three (even if those leagues aren't of the same quality as the Premiership), and has Champions League experience.

It would be a risk but potentially one worth taking.

Guardiola?? No one can beleive he will leave his boyhood team of Barcelona for us? I understand Jose as he moves clubs more and likes it in England and seems to be falling out with the Madrid contingent, but Pep is successful at the club that made him who he is, with one of the strongest squads ever

Think were getting abit ahead of ourselves with that one

There were rumours last season that this will be pep's last season with barca.
Wouldn't totally rule him out from taking over.......
And much preferred to Roy, Jose, Rafa and other names listed.

Steve Bruce is looking for employment....

Wasn't he off filming for The Hobbit - as one of the Orc Chiefs

What were JJ & Ryan saying ?

What SB says, below, and, JJ says Levy is looking to bring in a massive name. Ryan has heard nothing - but his main source is through 'Arry and there is no reason to suspect he would be informed of every little move Levy makes in looking for a potential successor.

Basically that it wasn't as clear cut as the media are making out re Redknapp to England.

Thanks to the FA this is probably the defining moment in our clubs history, the next appointment is critical, get it right we could be world beaters especially with stadium on the way, get it wrong we might not see CL again in a long time, tough job for Levy

Out of a lot of the managers mentioned already, I actually would'nt mind Moyes.

r.e wages: is'nt Harry already one of the highest paid managers in the Prem?

Nor would I, in terms of experience in this League anyway, but you can't help feel a little underwhelmed by it. A few years ago might of viewed it differently.

Was just thinking of Bilic, frankly if it convices Luka to stay then Im all for it!
At least Kranky will get a few games!
Wonder if players are consulted at all before the manager is picked? In my mind they probably should'nt as it is the club's decision but it would be useful for Danny to know who the players want.

If Mourinho is open to coming to Spurs then you have to go all out to get him IMO. He should be our number one target if Harry goes.

Then Ancelotti. Then Hiddink.

After that I'm just not sure.

This is where I am. If none of those three, Deschamps (no idea why I'm not keener) or Moyes would be next best.

Unless Levy decides that settling would be a bigger gamble than betting the farm on someone like Lambert/Rodgers who both show real signs of something speacial.

We are in a position to be more attractive to players than they are

How many Liverpool players would get into our first team?

I can't think of any right now

Do Spurs have a White Hart Lane cat? That could be a position available.

Actually forget that. Just remembered the Danny Rose cat. Sorry Anfield Cat, you'll have to stay with the racists.

Hodgson would be a good England manager. Not so sure he'd be a good Tottenham manager.

Surely hiring some cheerleaders would be a more conventional way to get some pussy onto the pitch at WHL

I have just spoken to a life long Barca fan and the word in the club is that Pep will be shown the door at the end of the season, finishing that far behind Madrid is not acceptable. and before I get my head torn off I am NOT saying he will come to us ,just he might be free.

Players don't voluntarily leave a club that has qualified for the Champions League, just because the manager leaves. That's the wrong-way-around to look at it. Generally, the new manager gets rid of players whom he doesn't want to keep.

Unless something goes drastically wrong between now and May, our players, most of whom are on long contracts anyway, will be looking forward to playing in the world's top club competition with one of the world's top clubs against the other top clubs and they'll want to do it with the teammates who got them there. They'll wait excitedly to see who the new manager will be and what he's like as a boss. Then they'll get on with the business of trying to win the CL and the title.

The posts that assume that our star players will want to leave just because Redknapp leaves to manage England are from another era. Players wouldn't do that if their club has qualified for the CL two years out of three. Neither will Tottenham, if we do finish third or fourth, appoint a mediocre manager, because a number of exciting managers will want to apply for a vacancy at a club that has qualified for the CL two years out of three.

How many players asked to leave Chelsea when Mourinho left?

Drogba. And he changed his mind.
