Ok so what if Stuart Pierce stays in charge till the Euros are over? What if he does reasonably well and has them playing good football? Say he gets them to the semis or the final? Would he really be ushered aside for Harry, if he was and I was him I would be PISSED!!

Things Harry will be thinking about will certainly be the fact that if he does decide to go it will be his last job in management I would presume and that barring the highly unlikely idea of England winning a WC in South America his last chance to be really successful. No doubt he will be here till June at the earliest I just hope the players can play like they did on Sataurday for he rest of the season and convince him his best chance of success and a real legacy is with his blue and white army!!

None of that is going to happen because Pearce will take the Netherlands game and then Harry wil be installled as soon as the domestic season finishes. We all know that this is how it's going to be in our heart of hearts...

Just the word Benitez has me needing to change my clothes.... N O F U C K I N G W A Y..... please no. Who do I have to blow to ensure this does not happen?

'Arry

That would see a major rise in the Twitch-Ometer rating :eek:mg:

Benitez > Moyes/Hiddink

no brainer. Liverpool and torres are a shadow without him. Nearly won the league and won a cL with what's now looks to have been a Liverpool side punching well above thier weight.

I love how tactically astute and adaptive mangers get poorly labelled dull. He had games where he out passed teams, games where he played qucik counter and games where he defended well.

Allerdyce, McCarthy, Warnock and Pulis are the anti football managers not Bentiez, capell and Jose

Well it should be easy to figure out who the source is. Who knows and has earned the trust of Levy, Harry and Bernstein. Can't be but one or two people in the world that has this level of trust with all 3.

Loads of people will know it. Jamie Redknapp would, David James probably, Joe Jordan, they're wives.... It could get out by any number of ways.

I would say it is probably true that he will leave us after this season which is a pity, but he might wanna keep us in the picture until AFTER the euros and see how the tournament went. If its a failure and the whole country are giving him jip, he'd be regretting leaving the best job he ever had for it almost immediately.

I dont understand, can you have ITK on Harrys thoughts?

surely he would wait to see how the season pans out first and then spend a few days giving it some serious thought

Although I think that Benitez is a good manager, I dont think he is the correct choice to take over at spurs.

He did a great job at Lolpool, but when he followed in the footsteps of a great man manager in TSO, he failed miserably.

I think the same would happen at Spurs.

The big question with regards to Harry is what will he be required to do as England manager in waiting between the Holland game and the end of the domestic season?

I would be very surprised if the FA didn't expect him to do a bit of research, and even if that's not written in a contract Harry will be thinking about it anyway.

Will he have any media duties?

Will the media continue badgering him about England when Spurs are playing?

If all of that can be controlled (and I suspect Harry's contract says he has to 100% focus on his job at Spurs) then it should be fine. But I think that's going to be very hard to control.

I think it will be Benitez if i'm totally being honest with myself.

He's the big name we could truly attract. Yeah he brought in some flops but he also had an eye to bring in some real quality. He'd be coming in knowingly that he will only be given money to bring in 1-3 players with real qualities to push us on.

Alonso, Lucas, Torres, Skrtel, Agger, Mascherano, Reina, Bellamy, Arbeloa, Kuyt and Johnson Are all good Benitez signings.

Mind you as I have said he has bought in a fair amount of flops.

The case against Benitez is this: He openly alienated Alonso in an effort to buy Gareth Barry. Alonso stated this as the reason he wanted away...and Liverpool have never been the same side since.

Would anyone reallyfeel safe letting a manager with that major boob on this CV anywhere near our dressnig room

Getting real tired of all the comments saying we should settle for a PL manager or someone with little experience.

We're Tottenham, by the end of this year we'll (hopefully) be in the CL with a title challenging side and the best chairman in the league. The only PL managers who are good enough/experienced enough for that job are AVB, Wenger, Ferguson and Mancini. And we're not getting any of those.

Rodgers doesn't have enough success at a high level - same with Lambert. Moyes plays horribly negative football and isn't the best with a budget. Hughes is a joke. Hodgson (despite being a nice guy) has never really lived up to expectations at a top level.

Personally, here's my recommendations on who we should be aiming at, in order:
Mourinho: Obvious, really.
Hiddink: Again, obvious. The whole club retirement thing can be fixed.
Guardiola: If he were to leave Barcelona, we'd be a perfect step. Attractive young team that are capable of challenging for big things. Though if he'd want to leave Barca is a different matter.
Ancelotti: Class, class manager. If PSG hadn't have got him he would've been our man.
Klopp: Transformed Dortmund by getting in young quality players and making them play brilliantly (Gotze, Hummels, Lewandowski). My personal favourite.
Deschamps: Relatively young and plays relatively good football.
Capello: Might not play the best football but can get results. English media might be a problem though.

Those are the types we should be going for, and that I'm sure Levy will aim at. All, of course if we have to, not because we want to.

Where could Jose have got Norwich City this year?

Where could Jose have got Swansea this year?

He would be hard pushed to add 5 points to either team imo and it is not luck over 25 games, lets see how they end up but they are two names who if we cant get a top top name are worth throwing in the hat imo of course.

Jose is a great manager but he does spend some cash the boy not sure I would be wanting him at spurs plus he has no loyalty and thinks he is the big man, well fuck off its all about the club for me. I would love spurs to have the same manager for 15 to 20 years would mean we are on a roll and oing well.

And dont be surprised if Arry stays, which I have a funny feeling might happen.

You have named 11 players but he bought over 70 and some of them ie Lucas and Agger were shit under his managment.

I would be sick if we signed him up as our manager.

that would be a shock to the system, from a manager that plays the same 11 every week more or less, to rafa rotation benitez.

If Mourinho is open to coming to Spurs then you have to go all out to get him IMO. He should be our number one target if Harry goes.

Then Ancelotti. Then Hiddink.

After that I'm just not sure.

Absolutely agree, it just has to be...

Mourinho, Carlo, then Gus Hiddink...

Now if we were to fail in that then there are not many names that jump out for me...

Bilic would be the best of them I suppose.

What about Roberto Martinez? He seems a good man manager, has prem experience, is well respected in the game but has never had the cash.

anyone?

anyone?
