In fairness to Benitez I thought he was very good in 'Max & Paddy's Road to Nowhere'.
Players don't voluntarily leave a club that has qualified for the Champions League, just because the manager leaves. That's the wrong-way-around to look at it. Generally, the new manager gets rid of players whom he doesn't want to keep.
Unless something goes drastically wrong between now and May, our players, most of whom are on long contracts anyway, will be looking forward to playing in the world's top club competition with one of the world's top clubs against the other top clubs and they'll want to do it with the teammates who got them there. They'll wait excitedly to see who the new manager will be and what he's like as a boss. Then they'll get on with the business of trying to win the CL and the title.
The posts that assume that our star players will want to leave just because Redknapp leaves to manage England are from another era. Players wouldn't do that if their club has qualified for the CL two years out of three. Neither will Tottenham, if we do finish third or fourth, appoint a mediocre manager, because a number of exciting managers will want to apply for a vacancy at a club that has qualified for the CL two years out of three.
How many players asked to leave Chelsea when Mourinho left?
Drogba. And he changed his mind.
You have named 11 players but he bought over 70 and some of them ie Lucas and Agger were shit under his managment.
I would be sick if we signed him up as our manager.
I don't even know what them things is...I am a drug free zone
And where I come is my business
We've already gone threw the process of transition.
I doubt Dan the man would over-haul our current structure.
Where could Jose have got Norwich City this year?
Where could Jose have got Swansea this year?
He would be hard pushed to add 5 points to either team imo and it is not luck over 25 games, lets see how they end up but they are two names who if we cant get a top top name are worth throwing in the hat imo of course.
Jose is a great manager but he does spend some cash the boy not sure I would be wanting him at spurs plus he has no loyalty and thinks he is the big man, well fuck off its all about the club for me. I would love spurs to have the same manager for 15 to 20 years would mean we are on a roll and oing well.
And dont be surprised if Arry stays, which I have a funny feeling might happen.
Hey sorry if you felt that I abused you, I was only jessing.
I just got a 5 point infraction, i dont know what that means, but my post had a red card next to it.
Seriously getting depressed knowing there is even one spurs fan who think Benitez is the man.... won't sleep tonight.
The other thing is David Moyes. I'm totally against it, not because I think he's a bad manager, I think he's very good. But he's good with a low budget club, with no examples on his CV so show he would be better with us. We need a top man with a top reputation. But the main reason I'd be against Moyes is because he is English. There is no stand out successor to Redknapp who is English. If Moyes were to do well he would be the overnight favourite for the 'next' English job and we'd be doing this all over again.
