We once went to Barcelona and got the result we needed. We went to Ajax, Dortmund and City and got the results we needed. We got the results we needed end of last season to get fourth. We have gotten results when we need them in the past, more so in recent history.

You are far too positive to be a Spurs fan.

I have mentioned before that I have some clients who play in Ligue 1. Well they played Marseille last weekend.

I asked them top rouge them up a bit  Well, they did come back from 2 down to get a very good draw. So I wonder how much that last-minute equaliser effects Marseille's mindset.

They told me that they press relentlessly and high. But they are quite weak in front of goal.

One other interesting aspect with Marseille is that the players are often targets to home invasions and other crime. I wonder if that will play on their mind in a must-win home game.

It's in our hands and we should do the job.

I really think he has to roll out Romero and Doherty on the right and I would be happy with Lenglet and Sess on the left with Dier in the middle.

I would be tempted to have bentancur with Holjberg and then a front 3 of Son, Kane and Perisic - Yes Perisic on the right. I just think he will keep the ball better than bumbler Moura and we already have bumbler Son so that's my rationale.....

I do not expect this. I fully expect him to have Emerson and Moura playing but who knows....

Maybe I am, but I just hate the constant negativity and pessimism when in reality we have got needed results in our recent history. It's the revisionist stuff that blocks out the wins and draws we have gotten only to focus on when we may have bottled it at times that really annoys me.

We aren't playing at top gear yet still remain third in the league and only need a draw at the very least to get through the CL group. I am sick to death of "Dr Tottenham" and "Spursy". I'd rather be optimistic and positive than pessimistic and miserable every day like several others seem to be. Must be draining supporting a club and thinking the worst all the time.

We scored last minute winners in our last two games, yes one was disallowed but that tells me this team will fight to the end when they need to. Okay yes we can start games better, score earlier etc. but we are still getting results.

That Barcelona game was pure hell.

Then the injury time we had to endure in the PSV-Inter game

I think we will be ok, don't forget they HAVE TO WIN, we just need a draw. We should be fairly well rested defensively and hopefully can start to ply with a bit of confidence again after our last 2 second half performances. On paper it should be set up well for us, on paper we should be fine

And them coming out to attack will play into our counter play style, no? If we're accurate and quick with the passing we'll be in behind them.

Yes that Barca game we relied on a result elsewhere, yet we still did what we needed to. We only needed a point v Norwich day yet went and battered them 5-0. We are capable of getting results when they're needed and I am positive regarding tomorrow.

He isn't the problem, the negative fans are. You should be admiring his positivity, not trying to spin it in to a negative.
I don't think he meant it in a bad way. But the fact that is something as said as joke tells me what I need to know about the mentality this fanbase still has despite the likes of Conte trying instil winners mentalities amongst the playing staff and fans. We need to stop focusing on every single little negative thing. It's tiresome and exhausting. I find myself not coming on here as much, or interacting with Spurs fans on twitter. I tend to just watch the games and be done with it until the next kick-off.

I'd be more confident
if it was us that needed to win.
There is a built-in complacency
in only having to draw to progress.
Especially given our recent effort
or lack of first half effort.

That Barca game was mental alright.

I remember absolutely battering them in the second half too and we couldn't score.

See there it is. The built-in complacency line. That's what I'm talking about. I highly doubt Conte will send them out to draw the game.

Yes we got results when needed against the likes of Barcelona, Dortmund, City and Ajax - but when we come up against European giants such as Dinamo Zargreb and NS Mura we get knocked out. From 1972 - 1984 we reached 3 European finals - we've reached one European final in I don't know how many attempts since 1984. Perhaps that is where some of the pessimism (your word - I'd say opinion / concern) comes from.

Sounds like a nice place to visit :)

Supporters are advised not to visit the Old Port (Vieux Port) area of Marseille during their stay. When visiting other parts of the city, supporters are advised not to wear anything that will identify themselves as Tottenham Hotspur supporters or congregate in large groups.

Street crime, including pickpocketing can take place in Marseille. Supporters are advised to be vigilant, take sensible precautions and ensure they have valid travel insurance.
Crazy times at the Vieux Port during World Cup '98, though I'd be just as worried about the CRS as the natives.

I can see a nice easy 5-0 victory for us. We’ll be 4-0 up by half time as well so will be a nice relaxing evening for us fans.

Agreed, i did 'like' the post first before posting and there was no intention to turn it into a negative but i can understand how it could be perceived as such.

Confident we’ll get the result we need, but also confident we’ll go behind and do it the hard way.

We need Son and Kane to bring their finishing boots. They will get 2-3 really good opportunities on the break. Need them clinical. Makes all the difference in our current style.
