I always give him props when he does well. Doesn't mean I don't still think he's a ****.

Unlike many on here I can dislike someone, think in general they aren't good enough, and yet still be able to judge them objectively on a performance by performance basis.

I think he and Sessegnon are both much better when they're constantly trying to make runs in behind, as opposed to always receiving it to feet.

I'm not sure what was different today, if they were making more runs, we were looking for them more with passes or Leeds allowed us to find them more but it was so much better. Would have been the icing on the cake to have the reverse goal from the first with the Doherty to Sessegnon chance that the latter just missed.

I actually think he's quite comparable to Alonso without the FKS. Both can be awkward on the ball, have their defensive deficiencies highlighted in a back 4 but have a good understanding of attacking the box/space in the final third. I actually think he's better in the buildup than people give him credit for. Even in the loss against Wolves, the way he opened his body up and punched passes infield first time was something Emerson fails to do consistently. I doubt he's the long term solution but he deserves a run in the side.

Yeah I saw that, definitely good signs. Hopefully something really did just click if it wasn't further worked on in training and we'll see similar effectiveness in future games.

Yeah, have to stick with him since his ability in attack is far more valuable than Emerson’s defensive abilities. Having Romero next to him also makes the defensive shortcomings a little less concerning.

Weird thing about doherty is that despite being woeful for us, he has been a quality player in this league before. So there is a chance for him. Bit of confidence and backing from conte and who knows...

Not sure I'm comfortable living in a world where doherty becomes a spurs regular next season but fair play to the bloke if he turns it around. ?

He had a really good game yesterday. We just have to be accepting that he is never going to be brilliant defensively so he will always need a Romero next to him to free him up

True but when do we ever start games with any intensity?

Take the last two home games as an example (out of loads) we’ve come out half asleep, lose the first couple of challenges and it sets the tempo for the opening of the games. It must drive the managers mad. I say managers because it goes back to under Poch when we regularly seemed to be sleepwalking through first halves, especially during our time at Wembley.

Wouldn’t underestimate what a difference playing with Romero inside and Kulu ahead makes, no disrespect to Sanchez and Moura but in my view they make wing backs jobs difficult.

Pleased for him. Must have been tough at times. Him and Sess just need to stay positive and keep making those runs forward. Believe in their ability and get balls in the box. He was actually a threat all game.
