Thanks to @SlumDilla for this:

There was a blurb in the Athletic (paywalled) from Christmas day that mentioned our interested in Michael Olise:

Cheers @Rob!! Obligatory youtube video.

After seeing the impact that Eze has had for Palace and the fact that we could do with another talented, HG player and for the reported price, we'd be silly not to take advantage.

Don't recognise a single one of these similar players. This makes me think that either:

a. I'm really starting to get old

or

b. I'm really starting to get old

Buy and loan back a possibility, I think.

If Dele is well and truly on his way out, I'd like us to bring in Olise in January. We need more attacking options and though he has less than 50 professional games under his belt, we could with his youthful exuberance and energy in the team. The fact he's open to pressing opposition players and helping out defensively, on top of his creative output, would make him an obvious choice for Jose.

Yeah if we can shell out 10m on Jack Clarke we can take a punt on this guy and loan him back. Looks a player and little downside given his age/HG status.

Downside? He's classed a HG player. Similar to Gyfli, who represents Iceland but as he came through the ranks at Reading, he's classed as HG.

:LOL: I promise I was not trying to be patronizing. I was watching the youtube video and I was saying to myself he reminds of someone and then Niko's name popped in my head.
Yeah, I know. Just a bit of piss-taking.

If the 8M release clause is true would be silly not to try

It isn't true according to my mate who is a season ticket holder at Reading. He fully expects him to leave because their manager hasn't been starting Olise regularly. It seems they have something of a personality clash I believe.

Fee would be closer to 20m, so similar money to Eze.
