Welcome to the Middlesbrough Vs Spurs Match Thread! COYS!

We want to bring the joy back into match days as these threads have just become full of over the top from at least a handful of posters. While we understand and have the same frustrations on the team and the performances the constant beating on the same players for just being picked is tiresome the same with going over how we didn't get more players in during the transfer window. We would rather not limit peoples access to this thread, so please before you hit post just read your post back...

STREAMING SITES

We cannot allow the posting of links to Streaming sites/apps and as a result of that do not allow posts asking for them as they invariably result in someone posting a link. Please do NOT hint at having, post or ask for links to streaming sites. The latest 'clever' way around this is to drop hints. That'll have to stop too I'm afraid as again, it results in people posting links.

Biggest game of the season now for me. I so hope Conte feels the same way, assuming he's still in charge.
Lose this one with a weakened team, and I won't care whether Conte stays or goes.

Well, it didn't seem like we picked up any new injuries. I doubt Skipp or Bentancur will be available. Same team except Reggie in for me.
Sess has promise, but worries me defensively

Boro lost yesterday at Barnsley, but seems they are much better at home currently. Also looks like they don't have many injuries or suspensions.
Top 6 will be their priority, but they will surely be up for the game. To beat us and United in successive games would presumably be huge for them

I wonder if Conte will rotate? Especially at WB. Don’t think we can in CM. Will be interesting to see if Moura gets a start.

Need to go strong to progress but players like Moura Bergwijn Sanchez Rodon should still be a level above the championship and one of the few opportunities for minutes

It’s bringing in 5 or 6 who have not played for a while that always resulted in disjointed performances in ECL. Need to just change 2 or 3 max. I’d be tempted to start the same team and rest key players after an hour.

I think we have to rotate where we feel we can really and put a bit of faith in those coming in. Pretty much the same 11 played against City, Burnley and Leeds in the space of a week.

This is my big fear, losing this one because we didn't rotate V Leeds.
To me this game is way bigger than the Leeds game. Will be furious if we lose this one in the hope of getting top 6.

I don't think it's even about not going strong because it's the FA Cup or it's Boro or even taking into account the space we have before the next game, because we have to protect players who may already have fatigue in their legs and bodies, to prevent injury. Space before the next game means nothing if some have already reached their limit.

Maybe that won't be the case and the staff at the club determine that those players are ready to go again and if so who am I to argue but 4 games in 10 days for the same 11 players is still a lot.

Yeah, but we could have protected players against Burnley and Leeds. We knew the schedule, either we want to win a trophy or we don't. We threw the ECL away, are we going to throw our last chance away or not.

United draw yesterday gave us hope. Top 4 clearly hasn't gone yet if we can remain in the pack when our best midfielders return. No reason or excuse at all for us not to win this with 4/5 changes.

Id like us to go full throttle for the FA Cup.

I think strong side needs to be put on that pitch - I think there may be Bergwijn (for Kulu) and perhaps Reggie (for Sess) as the two changes. Bergwijn looked lively against Leeds when he came on and Reggie needs minutes. The rest of the side picks itself. Id keep Doherty although I feel that Conte will play Emerson (urgh)

We have almost a week off after Tuesday , and then same again before Man Utd.
Same team again unless Skippy or Bentancur are fit. At last Doherty gets to play in his proper position.

I don't think we were ever going to at Burnley and to be honest Leeds turned into an even more important game for multiple reasons after Conte's outburst and the midweek loss so I respect that it was really pivotal to get a positive feeling back in the club and we should have gone as strong as possible in both.

I'm not mad at going strong in the league considering what we are fighting for and Conte will have faith in whatever he has planned for this game, whether it's to go as strong as he has in the league or to make a few changes. I'm not going to criticise before anything has happened or been decided.

Truth is though, I think our squad and the injuries we have allow us to only change so much.
