Having an option such as Carroll, not only to keep our options open at the start of games, but to offer something entirely different at the end of matches when things get tight, namely the ability to get forward and get involved in those tight spaces, could be crucial. So I think continuing to stockpile these more physical options isn't a wise idea, as we limit our options late in games and make ourselves entirely too predictable.
I think he acquitted himself very well at Swansea and would love to see him graduate into a Modric role. I still worry about his frailty, he hasn't had Modric's experience playing in the Bosnian 3rd division!
