I've just read that Arsenal have been told that £8million would not be enough to buy Morten Gamst. This surely means that there's a price they'd be willing to accept. I think Jol realises that there is a desperate need for creative players

(love this quote .... "The final ball was not good enough and we couldn't create a lot. You can have all the finishing power but if you don't have the loading systems it's difficult.")

and MGP would be perfect. That cross at the Lane last season a good example.
I think a £12million bid would be tough for Blackburn to turn down. He's gotta be the best option for the left.

i've got a feeling that when bale is fit, crosses from the left won't be a problem.

the left side would be even better with MGP AND Bale. Lennon and Chimbonda on the right and that would be starting to look a little healthier.

I would be loving that! Now all we need to do is get Lennon and Bale fit and buy MGP.

Damm that sounds so easy and simple when in real life it's very difficult.

But I will say MGP has improved a lot over the time he has been in the Prem. His defensive ability seems to have improved and he looks a little tougher than when he first came to the Prem.

Then there are the few goals he scores and the crosses he puts in.

his agent said we have had a bid rejected for him. If true atleast they realise the left side needs some work

I do think if a bid of 12 mill was put in the board would go over Hughes and accept it. Nakamura i would also love, left footed, creative, and superb at set pieces.

MORTEN GAMST PEDERSEN'S agent has revealed that Blackburn Rovers rejected bids from Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal for the Norwegian winger.
Pedersen is looking for a new deal at Blackburn, but insists that money is not his main concern.
His agent Rune Hauge told VG: "We have registered what is happening,"
"Our job is to secure our clients the best possible deals in relation to the market he plays in. As offers from Tottenham and Arsenal were rejected, Gamst's deal is something we have to talk about.

"We will talk with Blackburn. We've got a good relationship with them."

Pedersen added: "If Blackburn want to pay me more, it means they appreciate my contribution to the team,"

"I don't go around thinking of money. Money means a lot in this world, but not everything."

Blackburn value Pedersen at well over £8million.

i think in todays market that gamst is worth 18million. i know that sounds silly but what does 18 million buy you, chopra, richardson and nugent, i would rather have gamst than those 3.

I have been saying for a very long time MGP would be a good signing at a decent price. Not for sure anything over 10 million is a decent price but we need a left winger and he does fill the role and could provide better protection then Malbranque or Lennon in the wrong position.

I think Blackburn would hold out for 15 million though so I think it is out of the question for Spurs and probably for the Scum too.

All these words about Pedersen again. Read the quotes. The club do not want to sell. The player does not want to leave. Even the agent admits that the bids were just being used to jack more money out of Blackburn.

There's no deal here. For anyone.

Agree with above post that this prob won't happen but that doesn't stop the NOTW running a story about Spurs launching a last bid for him (sorry can't find link as website only linking him to Bayern whilst I saw this in the actual paper).
