Those Norwich odds are probably coming down because a) 12/1 is ridiculous odds for any team to win a league game so too tempting to pass up; and b) half of the posters on this site have probably put a bet on us to lose as an attempt to reverse-hex the outcome.
I would never do such a thing :cautious:

Norwich have the worst goal differential of any Premier League team since that horrific Derby County team of 2007. They’re not just bad, they’re historically bad.

Beating his previous record set against Burnley by 1?
Yup, currently on 15 clean sheets (the highest he's ever recorded with Spurs) and one more would see him beat his own record. All he would potentially need next season would be 20 clean sheets to break into the top 5 off all time PL GK clean sheets records.

What a sad state affairs that your post actually has 3 disagrees.

No idea why our supporters are mocked? Or why some say our supporters are as weak mentally as our club is supposed to be?
We have so many absolute fannies in our fanbase it’s embarrassing.

What annoys me is that once we prove all this anxiety incorrect, the fan base will still have this attitude despite the evidence to the contrary. If we beat Norwich comfortably, get the job done then people should allow that to put this ridiculous notion that shitting the bed is in our nature, a notion that contributes to our faltering ways.

I've signed up to a few betting sites and lumped the sign up bonus on the Arsenal-Norwich double.

Not because I think we'll blow it on Sunday, I'm actually very confident we'll get the job done in a very professional manner. I have a ton of faith in Conte and these players doing the business.

It's just that for once the odds are so high that the emotional hedge feels particularly worthwhile. Its no knock on the players or manager at all, I'm just wary of the footballing gods.

Anyone can beat anyone on their day. But I would suggest we're not very capable of losing to Norwich.

This season Norwich have beaten Eriksen-less Brentford (by a pen), Southampton, Everton (by an own goal), Watford (including another own goal) and Burnley. Of those, only Brentford have been half decent this season.

Apart from those five wins, Norwich have drawn 7 and lost every other game.

Unless we turn in our worst performance of the season or something incredibly unlucky happens, we aren't going to lose.
Absolutely, this is the best team to play against if you need a point at the end of the season.

However, the game is yet to be played and taking anything for granted isn't a winning mentality, it's just, I dunno, a bit delusional. The players should be confident they can win, but not assume that turning up is all they need to get the result we need. Fans can think what they want, but there is little to gain from assuming it's all done.

I'd say we have a 90%-95% chance of qualifying for the CL but that still is a very real chance we don't. For me, the biggest worry is conceding an early goal and rather than remaining calm knowing that we are the better team and knowing if we play normally an equaliser will come, we instead become too frantic chasing for an equaliser and leave ourselves open and get sucker punched.

Obviously, we will have prepared for such situations and the players will know what to do in any eventuality. But football is an unpredictable game by nature, and a one-off game always carries vulnerability. We need to maintain a professional attitude and cool heads, not overconfidence that only sets you up to lose your heads when things don't go as planned.

I hope that when we score a goal we celebrate like it’s a champions league final. That will wind up Arsenal lol

Norwich are not the typical relegation threatened sides - they will come out & play instead of camping in their halfs.
More they come out, should make it more easier for us to play through them.

Ofcourse there will be nerves - but am confident Conte will ensure team is in perfect shape to do the job

Absolutely. Anything can happen. But at least we know that, with Conte, the prep and application will be there. If we fuck this up, it almost certainly won't be because Conte fucked it up.

If we could have any manager in world football for this game, Conte would be in most people's top 3, if not their first choice.

Finishing 4th is not a problem. Actually coming 1st in a competition (any competition is).

Anyone else notice a resemblance between Spurs fans and Pavlov's dogs? Ring the bell and many get their knickers tied in a knot despite the fact that we are still favorites.

Yes, it is a possibility to lose but it is an improbability. Yes, we are Spurs, the football Gods are a fickle lot and anything can happen, so it's smart to be less than certain. But fearful? no. Let's be as brave as we expect our team to be on Sunday. I can't wait for the game precisely because of the uncertainty combined with the prize at the end of the rainbow. And what is a certainty, is there isn't a better opponent to face for the final game of the season under these conditions. Onwards and Upwards.

And has anyone projected the over/under for pages in this thread by gametime?

Sky only have the rights to show 128 games a season. 125 have been broadcast so 3 left for Sunday
Premier League need to allow the extra games to be shown with CL qualification and relegation still to be decided , sure they could do it , they soon changed their minds about charging £15 per game during covid lockdown after a multitude of complaints.

Am I right in thinking that every PL game is usually broadcast live on the final day? If so, why not this year?

The Spurs, Arsenal, and Burnley games are all hugely significant. Absurd that, as things stand, they won’t be broadcast live in England.
