that's what SKy sports were pointing at but Poch has said it's just for football reasons. As i posted earlier i expected Davies to be starting anyway along with many of the other players who didn't start at the weekend. I think the team will probably be similar to this

GK : Vorm
Defence: Naughton,Fazio,Vertonghen,Davies
Midfield:Stambouli, Bentaleb,Paulinho,lennon,townsend
Striker: Soldado

I feel sorry for Soldado having to play in front of that attacking midfield trio. I can't imagine he'll get much service!

I think the initial "What has Rose done to lose his starting spot?" question was due to someone saying they hoped Davies would be integrated into the weekend team. Considering Rose has done nothing wrong so far this season, why would he be dropped? I guess it's just someone that can't get over their dislike for him and is waiting for him to slip up at any opportunity so they can slate him.

Exactly what I was thinking. He'll be plagued by the same problems as last year, while Ade gets to play league games with Lamela, Eriksen and Chadli laying things on a plate for him (if only he could stay in the box now and again rather than wandering down the tunnel every 5 minutes).

Frustrating.

If poch is going to be fair about things Kane deserves a start after his performance last time out in EL

Wouldn't be surprised if both Soldado and Kane start, but with Kane in the number 10 role.

I'm hoping that we see a less disjointed Spurs performance that we've grown used to away from home in Europe in the last few years. I'd argue that in European games we generally performed better under Jol than we did under Redknapp and AVB (the CL season aside) but I suspect that back then we did much less rotation.

Not an easy game this, so I'd be satisfied with a draw (considering the number of changes we will make) and no injuries, but I predict a narrow win.

The little I saw of Ludogorets they looked competent. So proper match tonight then - no walkover?

No walkover at all mate. This will be a tough game in a pretty tough atmosphere.

I would be happy enough with a point to be honest. We may just edge it, lets hope so.

Like the look of this team to be honest. Will be interesting if Soldado is fit enough to start or whether we'll see him off the bench. If Kane starts up front instead I think Paulinho would be a good pick as Harry would be better with someone in midfield making runs to support him.

Really looking forward to seeing Fazio and Stambouli start though.

I reckon we could hit them on the break from wide areas and he can convert any decent crosses that come in. He also played well with Pauli in behind against Man U at home last season. Much will depend on the quality of the opposition, as well as on the attitude of Lennon and Townsend. If they really want to get back into the prem team they will stop hiding and trying to do it all on his own respectively.

It's just you - they always used to pick all the smiley pictures under AVB and Sherwood as well.

I'm starting to get really irritated by the OS constantly referring to Stambouli as 'Benji'.

Makes him sound like a fucking Labrador.

Agree with this other than I think Bentaleb should probably play ahead of Mason (then give Mason some minutes towards the end), and I think Naughton should start ahead of Dier at the weekend if he's fit (with Dier possibly coming in for Fazio depending on how the big man does tonight).

Looking forward to this tonight. No real pressure on the team so hopefully they can strut their stuff a bit.
Im just going by what I have seen from the tour on. Mason had a great pre season. Bentaleb had a shit 2 games in pre season and hasnt been great this season. Mason, IMO, is more deserving of a game. Same thing with Soldado and Ade. Soldado had a good pre season. Ade is clearly not fit and it is clearly effecting his form. He's been awful ever since returning from Malaria. FFS, Poch! Give him a week off or something!

Im expecting a tough game and a hostile crowd. Id take a draw tbh.

OK thanks for giving this tie some perspective, some of these games are a bit sterile.
So its a big COYS from me and lets hope we can get a good result.
