Funny how people see the same game so differently.
Being a staunch defender of Erik, I was surprised to see just how pleased people were with his performance yesterday.
Strangely enough, I feel this was one of his weaker performances we have seen. He had a few nice touches and got a fortuitous goal but his overall game was somewhat off (especially defensively). People seemed to be happier given he wasn't losing the ball but for me he was just playing even safer than he has been, I hope we aren't stifling his creativity which is his main strength.
For what it's worth, I thought his second half performance vs Newcastle was better... Different opinions n' all.
I agree - he wasnt bad but certainly wasnt great - average performance really - again mostly just saw his lack of pace and his inability to kick the ball hard when the pass dictates it needed.
