Got a family barbecue on Saturday and my cousins and uncle all support arsenal.

I have mentioned that Ledley was a better defender, obviously they are having none of it.

Firstly, putting the fact we're spurs fans aside, who do you think was better and why? I need to prove them wrong this weekend so surely you guys can give me some ammunition against them!

Cheers!

I need some facts/stats to back this up for Saturday.

They also say that the emirates is far superior to our new ground. I disagree with that too.

Well our new ground doesn't exist yet so I think you're all getting a bit ahead of yourselves on that one

One of the scum's own declared King was the hardest opponent he had come up against. (Henry).

It's not even a difficult question do answer.

Did Terry Henry ever say about Judas that he was the only defender who could tackle the ball off of him without having to foul him?

Did Fabio Capello ever say about Judas that he reminded him of Franco Baresi?

No

Ledley King. Punch every member of your family (including any arse supporting grandparents) straight in the throat.

In my mind King is the greatest centre back to grace the Premier League, never mind Campbell.

King, not even close

Were it not for injury he would have been one of the best 2 or 3 CB's the world has ever seen

Henry, their hero and one of the best ever strikers in the world said
“I don’t like defenders who hold the shirts of other players. The only defender here who doesn’t do that and sometimes still gets the ball off my feet easily is Ledley King.”

“He is the only guy who doesn’t hold players. He will get the ball off you without you even noticing. For me, that is a good defender.”

"He plays without any contact yet is somehow still strong and gets the ball without doing any fouls.”

"The difference between Ledley King and players like Sol is that Ledley doesn't ever try and stick a sly finger up your bum in the showers"

King. And the reason is that he played right through his career having never recovered properly from being injured pretty much in his very first game and still managed to do the things he did. A fully fit Ledley King would have been one of the best defenders ever, imo.

Pace positioning everything. And THAT tackle v the Arse. Was it Van P or Bergkamp. I forget but just show them that and say fuck all.

Edit: It was v Robben against the other scum. Also google how many top players said he was the best. And he was fair. Bet he had much less yellows/reds. Goes back to reading the game & timing.

He was anyway, but we know what you mean.

In truth, he elevated the art of defending to a plane that no other English defender has ever reached.

Not even close, Sol was probably world class on his day but Ledley was even better than that on his. Simply could have been the best CB in the world if not for his injury problems, he was that good!

King without a doubt. Valid reasons have been mentioned by others here. But if i were you, i would just chuckle, smile and walk away. This is the best way to get at them mentally. Coz no matter how valid your reasonings are, im quite sure that most of them would not agree with you. Sometime the least said, the better.......

"Throughout the whole of his career King received only eight yellow cards, unusual even for a relatively short career."

Ledley King was great defender and one of my all time favorites... But Sol Campbell was one of the best of his generation. That's the ugly true. :(
