Not worried about winning or losing. Just want the team to gel and set themselves up for the Man Utd game

So now we'll get to see us not only struggle to score goals, but have f-all possession too. Should be great for morale so close to the Manure game!

Wonder if Bale and Luka will play and if they do will they bother to acknowledge the Spurs fans?

Come see the biggest club in Spain, the biggest club in Germany, the biggest club in Italy, and...Tottenham Hotspur!

It really is frustrating that we're playing in this competition. When you look at the teams involved, you could be forgiven for wondering if they just went down the list of English clubs, getting rejected each time until they found someone greedy enough for it.

We're the only team in this competition that plays a league game the ensuing weekend...I guarantee none of the other English clubs wanted anything to do with that shit.

Personally I don't see a problem. Another training session or games which allows the coach to try things? Another training session or the chance for our players to pit themselves against top teams, surely what most of them want to do, seems much for appealing. We are always hearing that training ground fitness is not the same as 'match fitness'; so give them matches I say. Now if we were travelling a long way that would be an issue but we are not.

Hopefully Poch and the lads will view this as a good bit of match fitness and testing of formations before the real deal kicks off on Saturday and don't go too hard on it.

I was a bit miffed by the fact it's 2/3 days before start of the season but we're gonna have that most of september and october anyway, so might as well get ready for it now.

We'll get twatted by real Madrid 5-0
Bale will score.
At least we won't have to get utterly dicked by Bayern as well. Do we have to play AC Milan for 3rd place?
Might get a win in that one but won't cry of we don't. Media will be baying for Pochettino's head by the time we play United.

Hopefully we see a bunch of kids playing. Two games before we face United so I expect our first teamers will only see cameos today and tomorrow.

Jesus G Hoddle, it's a friendly against a team who are 3 weeks behind us in their preseason, not a CL match people!

Of course. The players could never be up for the opening game away at man Utd after s midweek training match against the world's best players!

Is this televised other than on Spurs TV?

Premier Sports have it.
Just been on their website and they have a promo for Sky subscribers - 2 months for £9.99 (normally £11.99 per month). Very tempted, not just for this set of games, but for the other sports they cover.

When did people start getting their knickers in a twist over pre season friendlies?! Weird.

If we played this tournament last week it would be fine.
The issue is that we have 2 games in 48 hours, followed by the early kick-off, away from home, on Saturday.
Levy not 100% responsible, but partly to blame.
BT Sport and the PL equally responsible for moving the United fixture.

Don't be silly - whether they play or not is one thing, but I 100% expect Bale, if not Luka as well, to acknowledge the Spurs fans. Gareth still has a lot of good feelings about Spurs, he's said it before.
