Well, if we just lowered the fee because they had a replacement lined up, hopefully it wasn't irreparable damage and we can just go back to what we offered. Regardless, if that's true, that is such a dick move. It's an awful decision to try and do that to a team when you're trying to sway one of their most loyal players to your side. In my opinion, it's just awful business practice.

I can't believe we would do that. It just makes us look like unprofessional idiots. Not even Levy could possibly imagine any other response from Valencia other than, "duck off and do one."

Saldado's agent hasn't said it has collapsed, just that we haven't reached an agreement yet. Massively different statements.

His agent is Toldra, I believe. Has strong connections with Madrid and it is suspected within footballing circles that he helps ties between Real and Marca

Baldini does not need to be in Spain for us to buy the player. We never had an agreement last night, they had called a meeting (a pre-arranged meeting where the deal and other business would be discussed) why would they cancel that meeting? I think this has all come about from the fact that Baldini has gone home.

They will discuss it, they will then phone and say whatever they want to say and we will respond etc etc. This is how multi-million pound negotiations are conducted.

Sounds like Levy to me. Time to move on from this one. Once you p*ss off a Club like this, they won't talk any more and will look for other offers.

Mate of mine has done numerous property deals with levy and says he only starts negotiating when you've shaken hands and everyone thinks the deal is done, people are moving house etc. That's when he lowers the price, once people are committed. Also you have to check the contracts with a fine tooth comb because the money in writing will often be different to what you agreed and they'll try and get you to sign without you noticing.
